I think the whole point is to unbalance things. Why would they more than double the number of youth only to give you the same number of good prospects?

They want people to get more usable players from their own YS.

The main thing is that the number of youth you get in a season just went from like 20-25 to 70. That's interesting. I think I support it.
I just read that, and I take back everything. Haven't gotten anything of value yet, but then I still have three potential players in the YS so we'll see.

I hadn't gotten any good pulls for some time, but every single one of the last 5-pull we got before the pull-a-day started happening was really, really good - the lowest quality of which was 75?Q. I'm happy with that - I just have to find room on my team for them at the start of the next season.

I won't consider it until Jaromir Zach gets to 400 AI, though. Another week or so.
If I win a title this season (regular or playoffs, I don't care anymore), I might join you. But I probably won't have the same cash as you. Too much dead weight.

Except you don't have to pull everyday. The players will stack up to 20. And I've already got someone decent:

Stephen Pleau 18 95 78 Defense 90

EDIT: I just went ahead and gave him one boost and pulled: 95/Max-2/-1. Probably too late in the season for a chance to make the u20 team.

If, by chance, you get a decent player would you fire them too?

It seems Pleau wasn't pulled too late this season to be of help to the next u20 like I thought. Sweet.

This rebuild is looking up, and I'll have two solid veterans to sell at the end of the season (0P Center signed for three seasons that used to be on the USA NT, and a +3 d-man with 6P) to go along with four not so good players that will be relatively cheap in comparison to those two.

What do you guys have your training and regen up to when doing your rebuild? I am going to 135 on each right now but not sure where I want to stop upgrading them.

I'm not entirely sure myself. I recently started building, and I'm not sure where to stop. As such I'll probably go all the way to max. Currently I'm at about 139 or so.

30 AI? He's guaranteed to have 90Q. Whatever the P is, that is good selling material.

My thought was that it would make sense to go as far as you can without being in the red. Meaning when you total all your daily costs (not buying players) and all your ticket sales and sponsor money, you should be making a profit.

I'm at 170/170 right now. When I demote back down to III, my daily profit will be less than a million. So I'll probably stay here for a while.

In other news, here are my top two lines:

ok, for some reason none of the plusses showed up? I don't know. But any number without a sign is a +.

53P (max-6)
18 YO

Thanks for posting that. Teaches me a few things I can use for my team.

Sure. Someone could buy now to train him up and sell him later, or if you have decent facilities you could do that (basically just train him up to ~200 AI, then sell).

is it just me, or should my 22 year old with 100Q train higher than 39%?

Training depends on Q, P, your facilities, ice time...

And what type of game: league, friendly, playoffs, NC, U20, etc all can give higher or lower numbers.

It's always nice when a team goes under right after they beat you, and then lose by double digits to the rest of the league.

Looking at GirouxGiroux's post showing his lineup, is it true that if you have two goalies ready in your line up that the starter will get less experience than if you only had one goalie in the lineup?

Grabbed a Canadian defenseman by what may be the best name I've ever seen in this game: Ugo Banger.

I've never heard that? I don't see why that would be the case. Starting goalies are supposed to get about the same EXP as someone on the second line, though obviously people run their lines differently. They would only lose EXP if the backup played.

I could be wrong though, like I said, I've never heard that before.

i have seen some players start their young "goalie of the future" for the first few minutes of the game and then pull him and put in their higher AI goalie for the rest of the game. One guy said he did it so his young guy would train better and get experience.

anyone do this or any thoughts on it?

ive thought about it since my future goalie is my 100Q player i mentioned a few posts back.

also...anyone do this with their 4th line to get the young guys some playing time? Im in III.2 and have just been running 3 lines most of the time to keep up with the top teams.

I still dont get the goalies trainning. Mine always train a lot less than the rest of the team.

Im starting a rebuild and the only thing left is a goalie exactly beacuse im not sure i should buy a 17 year old one or not. Im afraid he wont train well.

I was always told goalies don't train that well. Mine is over 80Q and usually trains in the low 30% which is a lot lower than other players I have with similar Q.

People used to pull their young goalies after a couple minutes and it seemed to get them better training. Though a few seasons ago icko changed it so that the more shots a goalie sees the better his training....though i'm not sure anyone's proven this.
