Panthers next captain?

I'm a Leafs fan but I come in peace and have been wondering this about your team. Since Bryan McCabe was traded you don't have a captain and I was wondering who do you think will be the next one or will there be 2nd straight season playing without one?

Good question. Toss up between Campbell, jovo and Weiss IMO.

Think we can continue without one for now.

Erik Gudbranson. It's just a question of when.

Thread is next captain. Gudbranson will not be the next captain ahead of Weiss, Campbell, Jovanovski, etc.

It has a lot to do with leadership in the locker room which none of us know much about but i think when Weiss has been here since 2001 and after him, the longest tender with this team is 2007 (Matthias and Ellerby), i have to give it to weiss.

I don't have the quote, but didn't Dineen say he was going to leave it to the players to elect a captain?

Agree with the first part wholly.

Don't get the other part.. Don't see a nexus between time served and leadership ...

We'll have to see what kind of money he wants heading into the future before he can really be considered.

You have to wonder, Weiss has been around awhile now. If he was truly captain material, he would've been already.
