You're right that all those artists have roots in the 60s. But I would say they did their best work in the 70s. Which consideration is more important when placing them in a decade?

I would say it's when they were in the prime of their music making careers. Clearly, you have the opposite opinion.

How do you judge "prime" in music? Record sales? I don't buy that...

I see artist more of an evolutionary process. Sort of like academics, the early stuff might not be best but it is the beginning of the process. The schools of thought seem to guide people throughout their career regardless of slight variations.

I think the 1970's had no foundation or cause for lack of a better word unlike 1950 and 60...there was no meat on the bone. I also firmly believe the political landscape was directly related to the terrible music.... lost, disillusioned, lack of vigor, tired and beaten.

I wish I had a set up like that. Within iTunes I had the very large majority of my music appropriate labeled in all regards. Not really on the cover art, but that wasn't important to me. The music not fully labeled would have been stuff I didn't really care about. Problem is, its all labeled correctly in iTunes. Does nothing for me when I want to do anything else with music outside of there. And that's the problem I'm dealing with now and trying to switch to a new phone and potentially primary music player.

The Electric Light Orchestra made some amazing music. Those who don't agree, don't deserve to "get it."

MP3Tag. It's free: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

You can download cover art from Amazon, update batches, etc. Love that program.

Just realizing that if this dumb lockout happens and for an extended period of time I'll be pissed even more because this season I was going to take girls on dates to a few games.

Hopefully tomorrow or Monday I'm sitting around and extremely bored. That's what it will take for me to really put the effort I need into this project. But this program should definitely help. Thanks.

You might actually lose money as a result of the lockout if you have to take em out in NYC rather than a Devils game

If I get the job I'll give you $5 a week for a year paid in alcohol. Feel free to screen cap this.

so.... you're gonna buy me a 6 pack of domestic cans? Or you want to go to a bar and buy me 1 to 1.5 beers (depending on where we go)? And since I won't go see you weekly, you'll essentially buy me 10-12 beers on each of 5 different nights in one year? I'll take it.

This is exactly what it comes down to; every year that passes, the personal time window closes just a bit more, and doesn't start to open again until all of your responsibilities slow down when you're in your late 50s, by then you'll have maybe a handful of friends to look through your trip photos and comment on how much fun it must have been. You'll regret that you never took advantage of this time in your youth. You'll reflect back on this post often while you're waiting on the phonecalls from your children that never come, and you'll say 'Why didn't I listen to Dave?'. You'll spend your last days in some blemish on a map like Sarasota, begging for the opportunity to do it all over, BUT YOU CAN'T.

This why I believe "retirement" age should be from 20 to 40 and working age should be 40+

Everyone would be happier and healthier.

Well this will be an interesting conversation:

I can either take an unpaid leave (cant afford) or take a reduced-pay leave though the Family Leave Act (also cant afford). I will likely have to figure a way to use my personal/sick days to do this.

If its true that first kids come early, about 10 days would do!

Finally decided to get rid of my iPhone 3GS. Been sitting on my upgrade for a while, waiting to see what the iPhone 5 would be like (after waiting and being disappointed at the 4S, I gave it another year). Wasn't impressed and went out and bought a Galaxy S3 today. Very happy with my purchase so far Now I just need my microSD card to get here so my capacity will increase dramatically.
im in the same exact boat-
can you keep me posted? i really dont know whether to get the iphone 5 or the galaxy

I thought first kids came late?? I was on time...but I know more people who were late with their first kids then early.

Good luck making the decision.

As far as OFS and selyar....GO FOR IT!! Like everyone else said, when will you get this opportunity again?

to piggyback telling your employer to go **** off somewhere, I have a call to make at 10 that will determine if I can go pantsless and work from home making ridiculous money. the only stumbling block may be if they inform me I can run a business out of my home apartment. but its not really a business, so who knows.

I was supposed to get a raise on 8/2. It still hasn't kicked in. I'm going to go talk to the big boss today and ask for it to be retro-active. I can hear their laughter now.
