Voynov Assigned to Manchester

Good news indeed. We don't need to fight with some KHL team with dueling contracts. This guy is a keeper...even though he made me wince several hundred times during the Final.

Sucks for him. He already had an agreement to join hometown Chelyabinsk if not sent down.

Good for Manchester. Hopefully their offense can kick it up a notch this year, because defensively they should be fantastic.

A great thing for him longterm.

The lockout made the 2003 draft even better when a big chunk of it was able to play in the A and be big fish in a small pond.

Excellent and oft-overlooked point. We go on about the value of development, here's proof.

I love VV going to Manchester. He will get a ton of ice time and also get to share his NHL/Cup experiences with our up and coming AHLers both O and D. He is a solid kid who gets a ton of respect everywhere he plays so this is only a good thing not to mention it will help him work out a few of the rough edges that he had up with the big club.

Solid stuff.
