I know we already have a number retired, but the banner design doesn't fit the modern jerseys at all (even the heritage ones) so I think we are going to need a new design for Alfie (and possibly Phillips). So what should they look like.
Just in case anyone is interested, this is the best pic I could find of Finnigan's, and I will try to come up with a design and post it.
Here is my design, I didn't do the heritage because I thought it would be cool for each banner to be designed after the player's biggest moment (for Alfie the 2007 ecf goal)
Also, just to note the blue is just for a background to make the concept more visible, and wouldn't be there on the real banner, and the years played font should be the same as the jersey number

3013...I approve, but I think his production might slow down slightly by then.
as much as i like the direction the franchise is going with the heritage jerseys, i really hope the 92 logo (or the 97 amendment) is featured prominently on alfie's banner. He played 11 seasons under that logo.

A bit OT for this semi-dormant thread, but I think the Sens org needs to consider redoing their Stanley Cup banners. With a clear move toward branding the team & city's hockey tradition and heritage, would be good if those banners were more indicative of that period. Personally, I'd love to see a baberpole background with the 'World Champions' shield (like the shield shoulder patch on the heritage jersey) and the year. Simple. Classy. Awesome.

I rather like the ones they have now (though the logo on them admittedly is an anachronism). Making the dominant colour black gives the banners an understated, modest feel to them, like it's an acknowledgement of Ottawa hockey history, rather than a boast about championships from a century ago.

1,000% this. When you consider the amount of hockey history in the Northeast Division, and how celebrated the logos of the Bruins, Habs, Leafs, and even the Sabres are, the original Senators logo fits surprisingly well among them, despite having only been in existence for a fraction of the time. Meanwhile, the 3D logo looks extremely out-of-place.
