Last night in the OTW-Arnprior game, their goalie just left the ice after the 7th goal without even being pulled. Just left. And their assistant captain #19 didn't play the whole third period. They have great offense, but wow did they ever have some problems in their own end.

2 goals for in a 7 -2 loss does not make for great offence nor does 1 goal in a 9-1 loss to Gatineau but I do agree there are some major issue in their own end...takes the whole team to play defence..some of the centres and wingers need to told that it is ok to come back across the blueline in their own end.

Packers are coming to Metcalfe Friday night.....looking forward to the game....Did Arnprior receive any suspensions from the Gatineau game?

Worst to First in a week

After 4 straight wins this past week Renfrew went from worst in Valley Division to First... NOW the million dollar question is can they stay there?

Was at the South/Gatineau game tonite. Good game, fast pace. Better officiating than I"ve seen lately. South outplayed, outshot and outhit Gatineau. Good team effort by south, goalie was solid and the Gatineau tender was good as well. South looks like they are rounding into shape despite missing 3 quality starters.

Referees as you said were excellent. Loney, head ref usually seen in the CJHL and CIS. I have never seen him ref Jr. B. One of three linesman, Borden, use to play in the CJHL.

If you look at the four main characteristics of a winning jrb team it's hard not to believe that Renfrew has a chance at the Valley title. 1-goaltending 2- power play 3- defense 4- ability to get stronger on Dec 1st. From these factors Renfrew should be in for a good season.

i agree with the 4 factors good formula for success in the EOJHL. December 1st and January 10th are interesting days for teams. Athens last season received Jacob Clark and Dan Lacroix essentially giving them two first lines.

Okay with this being said what are the updated predictions? Also who is your vote to best benefit on Dec 1st?

If you look back on recent years the Pembroke Kings always seem to move two or three players to Renfrew. If that continues coupled with the big addititions already made I like the wolves chance of stepping up with the big teams in the league not just the valley. Eady, Doner, Gagne, Conroy and now Anderson joining the team. All big changes !!

I would also agree with this statement. I think they have the abiliaty to stay atop the division and their biggest competition would be the Packers if they can keep it together. My perdiction is

Renfrew
Arnprior
Stittsville
Perth
Almonte
Shawville

I'm thinking that Ottawa might beat out Gatineau for the first spot as they have upgraded the team through a number of trades before the season and recently added last years top goalie in the league via trade. There firepower is coming around despite having a number of regulars out with injuries. There top two D men have missed the last few games and are expected back this weekend.

OK - lets look at the top rookies in each division.....who will make the jump next year?

Steege looks like a lock with the Packers? Veronneau with Ottawa

I would add Kevin Groulx to the list now that he is with Kanata and Chris Minns playing for Renfrew

Kevin Groulx has quietly made a case for himself while Steege and Minns look like locks to make the jump.

From Ottawa West, Mike Constantine and Mitch Kellar could be up with the Raiders next year.

Wow maybe I should take back all the good things I said about Renfrew.
They are horrible!!! Lol. West shows Renfrew they need alot of work to play with the big boys.

Yeah honestly. Wow 11-0. Good for OTW to stay away from Renfrew gooning it up.

Arnprior 8 Metcalfe 5

Arnprior made the best of their opportunities and capitalized on three powerplays and an off night for Jets goalies.....Shots 48-28 in favour of Metcalfe....ouch

Metcalfe/Arnprior

I think it was over in the first when the shots were 19-3 for Metcalfe and score was tied 2-2...the refereeing was unreal....in the first period all calls went against Arnprior including Metcalfe having a 5 on 3 stretch for about 5 minutes...in the second period it was all against Metcalfe, in the third, it was pretty even....overall, if you take the first period away as Arnprior was short handed for most of it, the game was pretty even from a territorial play perspective and again, not including the first period, the shots were also even. There was some weak goals let in Metcalfe and for sure, goaltending and the Arnprior power play was the difference tonight.
