Double minor against Portland: they picked up an unsportsman-like after an interference call they didn't like.

Go Caps!

Ugh. Pasquale is having a horrible night, and the whole team seems a bit flat. Super soft goal to make it 4-0 - bad angle shot from near the goal line - deflected in off Pasquale's skate.

Pirates fan here, just wanted to tell you guys that you are extremely lucky to have your games televised. AHL Live streams are usually complete garbage but it was great watching your feed the past 2 nights.

Not much to talk about in regards to the game last night.

Poor effort by the IceCaps.

Something I'd like to point out, since it is often forgotten.. John Albert is NOT Winnipeg Jets property...he is NOT a prospect for us. He is an NHL UFA.

Also, did not realize Klingberg has only played 2 games. He get hurt?

I looked at the Thrasher's picks since their inception and, to my eyes, only 1 player EVER who was not a first round draft pick, has made a significant impact in the NHL. That player is Toby Enstrom.
In the list above, aside from Burmi, I see only Machacek, Telegin and Postma as having reasonable chances for NHL success. Of those 3, I am most high on Machacek. I think this kid is a winner and could be a very successful bottom 6 forward, with some scoring upside.

Check out their success with 2nd rounders... They had more luck with any of 3-7 than 2nd round hahaha.
Luke Sellars, NHL GP: 1
Ilya Nikulin, NHL GP: 0
Libor Ustrnul, NHL GP: 0
Grant Lewis, NHL GP: 1
Ondrej Pavelec, NHL GP: 187 (only exception)
Chad Denny, NHL GP: 0
Andrew Kozek, NHL GP: 0
Riley Hlzapfel, NHL GP: 0
Carl Klingberg, NHL GP: 7 (possible future exception)
Jeremy Morin, NHL GP: 12
....Sutter???

NHL GP is games for our franchise

I agree with your prognostications, except I'd toss Klingberg into the mix as well - I think he could find a role on a 3rd line at some point.

Telegin's a very interesting prospect, as he's a tough one to pin down. I think his potential upside is higher than Machacek and Postma, but the likelihood that he'll "bust" is probably higher too as I don't think he's well suited to a role outside of the top 6.

I would add Pavelic to the list of successfull non-first rounders. Your point still stands however that the organization hasnt been able to develope many late round picks. I'm hoping this is where TNSE can make an impact, they have a history of developing lesser known players for the show.

I knew Pavelic's name would come up, so let's have some fun with this. I would argue that, by any objective measure, he has not been a success. I would define success for an NHL goalie as being top 20 in a league of 30. Hell, Pavelic is not even top 30 for GAA and save %. Sure, he looks good and is athletic but the results are not there. Frankly, I am not convinced he has the focus and mental toughness to succeed in the NHL.

so what? at any point in time its impossible for more then 20 every teams to have a good goalie?

using criteria like this is ridiculous.

especially considering how fluid those standings can be year to year.

i won't argue with pavs being bad though, he was, but he looks like he can be a player. So a goalie literally has to be top 20 in his position to be succesfull, but a third - 4 th line grinder you would consider a success?...that's not really fair is it?

Naaa, it's probably not fair...just tryin' to pick a fight cuz nothing is happening with the CBA and I'm so pissed off at the Bombers.
Can we call Pavs a "Grinder goalie"--then he'd be your namesake.

I would say drafting a goalie that only becomes a back up is still a "success" in drafting (unless he's a first rounder *cough* Montoya *cough*) lol

Klingberg back tonight, Dekanich in net. Boys need to play better in front of him tonight. Team really needs to step up the collective effort. I'm just showing up on the bus and will post anything of interest
