Good to see the boys haning out and getting along......the dog in the photo looks concerned about Burmi's fashion decisions no??
Sometimes the picture tells all you really need to know.

Just a little surprising about where he was and who he was with though.

Poor IceCaps... their only finishers are defensemen (Redmond and Postma)... no wonder Burmi can't set anything up

Some very good pressure from the 'Caps at the start of the 3rd, but once again, no finish. Holtby making big saves, then IceCaps missing open nets.

Just started watching at the beginning of the 3rd - just as you asked, he went ahead and played a 2 on 2 questionably.
Played it like it was a 2 on 1.
Big dude.

On the bright side Sportsnet is broadcasting the Caps visting the Hamilton Bulldogs on Dec 21st and Dec 28th.
They might have a chance against Hamilton.

If he is going home, TNSE knows about it.
Perhaps they made a deal so he could be home for the holidays.
Perhaps this was always the plan for an extended lockout.
Shrug. I am not really concerned.

According to Jim Toth, his injury is such that he wouldn't be able to play until after Christmas so they are letting him go home for the holidays. The picture of AK-Bars made it seem like he was going to play with them, especially since there are reports that he was to return to St. John's after his injury was assessed here.

This is all there is to it. Burmistrov is under contract with the NHL, he cannot jump to KHL unless the Jets have given permission for him to go. The KHL and NHL have signed a MOA preventing players from signing in the other league if there is an active contract in either league (unless the team who holds the contract gives permission).
Honestly, even if the Jets let him go home and play until the lockout ended, I'd be ok with that. He can certainly develop there as much as AHL, maybe even more, since he will allowed to open his game up more and develop his offense more in the skilled KHL, rather than the grinding plodding AHL game.
