BREAKING - Source: WR Plaxico Burress plans to sign w/ @Steelers. Burress worked out for PIT today (via @AdamSchefter).

Sounds like it'll be Hoyer, not Kafka signed by the Steelers today. Working to confirm.

Pittsburgh needs a big bodied possession WR. That would be great if Plaxico Burress is a steeler again.

Baron Batch and Marshall McFadden cut to make room...have to believe both will wind up on the practice squad in the end and Batch probably returns at some point.

He'll do well IMO. He's in excellent shape and is 6'5". He'll nab a couple TD's the rest of the year, especially when Ben comes back.

I highly doubt signing a washed up WR will get us over the top, especially with 2 QBs down. I'd rather see Hines being re-signed as Batch's back-up; he'd have a better chance at making an impact, IMO.

Plax is better than Cotchery, so as far as I'm concerned the team lucked out with Cotchery getting hurt. Plax sat out of pro football for a long time, then came back and played with Mark ****ing Sanchez last year and played reasonably well. He's a decent 4th receiving option for a healthy team.

There's no risk and a chance of a moderate reward. As down as I've been on the Steelers this year, the AFC is wide open, so as long as they make the playoffs and avoid the Pats, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see them winning a playoff game or two and then who knows.

It's not a move to get us over the top. We're two WR's down and hes a good redzone target if nothing else.

I'm just not a fan of our receivers getting any sort of advice from him.
