That kid he wasted was no pushover. He even fights the occasional heavyweight.

Pouliot has a decent number of fights aswell. Usually not against heavy weights but he can hold his own.

Sean Maguire helped BU shutout the Toronto Varsity Blues last Sunday. Toronto looked really bad, but he still made a few great saves.

Unless he initially had 7 pts on the season (3g, 4a), he stil has 6 pts (3g, 3a). Where does it show that they took an assist away from a previous game?

ha has 6 points on 9 games now and only 10th in defensemen scoring. No wonder we have to rave about him beating some midget in a fight with that kind of production

In my eyes he's always going to have a lot to live up to. I haven't really seen him play much up till this point though so I'll reserve judgement until a few years down the line.

For anybody who does not know, NBC Sports (old Versus) is broadcasting something called the Colleg hockey Icebreaker Tournament tonight. At 7:00 PM, Notre Dame plays Maine. The second game is Army against Nebraska-Omaha. Notre Dame has Bryan Rust, and Josh Archibald plays for Nebraska-Omaha.

also, I was looking today, and Harrison Ruopp is a +5 with no points for Prince Albert who are off to a 7-0-1 start.

As much as we like to focus primarily on his offensive production, I think he's trying to round out his game by playing better defensively. Morrow was his D partner last year and I think he'll have to be more assertive now and more careful given that he has a weaker d-partner.

Also, they lost quite a bit of firepower from last year and the team, as a whole, isn't scoring at the same pace. I guess he'll have to generate his own offense unlike some D that benefit from really good forwards and getting freebies from a good transitional system.

I don't think that's his game though, necessarily. Being an ace distributor is dependent upon who you're distributing the puck to. He's one of those players that will look better in the NHL than the AHL once he makes the pros.

Pouliot: greatest #8 pick in history. Did you see that upper-cut? The guy was BLEEDING afterward. Epic.

I can not take credit for the information. I found it on the NCAA forum. There is a schedule for NBC Sports college hockey boradcasts for anybody interested. There are a lot of games that will have Penguins' prospects there. Apparently the championship game of the tournament is Saturday night at 7:30 as well. However, I do not know if any Penguins will be playing since it is a win and advance situation. In theory both Notre Dame and Nebraska Omaha can be playing.

Also, I had a desire to look up information about Ruopp since he is a "forgotten" prospect.

Another plus for Pouliot is that the guy he fought is a Rangers' prospect. He is already gearing up for Atlantic Division play. Smart kid.

Just got the Mavericks line chart for tonight's game against Alabama-Huntsville. Teddy is once again centering the third line with J.P. Burkemper, a junior from St. Louis on his left and Johnny McInnis, a junior from Boston on the right. Barring injuries (Which tend to be common for the Mavs) or slumps, I'd imagine this would be Teddy's typical placement.

I tend to look at it a bit differently. Most coaches want their most talented players to be theri hardest workers. What better way than to start an talented kid out on the third line to earn some playing time with the top unit? This is a good sign of the level of expectations the coaching staff has for Teddy. Or I could just be optimistic because it is Friday and I finally get to watch some hockey.

It'd be nice if Rust could have a Hanowski-like breakout junior season. Interested to see if he's playing a top-6 role.

I'd tend to agree with your statement over Helo's. With the exception of Bryce Gervais (Freshman who was a part of that juggernaut Pendicton team in the BCHL last year), I've seen the top six. It's who if I were coaching this team I'd sent out to fill out the top two lines. I feel that Hastings is sending an early message to Teddy here that he's got to earn his lunch on this team if he wants to see more minutes and that there's nothing wrong with that, especially for freshmen.
