For anybody who is interested, Wheeling won tonight 4-0 against Evansville. Scott Darling got the shutout. Sneep was the only Penguin prospect in the lineup according to the ECHL game sheet. He finished with an assist on the power play goal for a +1.
Not certain about McNeil or Payerl. I am at work tonight and not even at my desk. Acting as supervisor so I am at a computer with no sound for me to listen. I had to use the ECHL Gamecenter for this game and the AHL gamecenter for the WBS game.
The non-existent defense of the Soo Greyhounds is getting ridiculous. Today Matt Murray stopped 51 shots, including 20 in the last period, to beat one of the OHL's worst teams 5-4.
Anyone know if Zlobin is injured? He hasn't played the last couple of games for Val-d'Or. More importantly, every player on Val-d'Or has a number less than 30 other than Zlobin, who is #79.
Looks like Scott Wilson is heating up after a slow start, had 2 assists in his most recent game (3-1 win) after having 3 points the game before.
Sean Maguire with a 21 save SO (4-0) against Northeastern. After a terrible first game, he's at 2.56 GAA & .910 save% through 4 starts.
Agostino with the OT goal against Denver in a 2-1 win on Friday. Has 2 assists so far tonight, 11 pts (5+6) through 8 games.
Hanowski has a goal and assist in an on-going game aginst Minn-Duluth.
Hanowski with 1G 2A. I still don't like his skating but you can see the hands and sense are at a pro level. I'm hoping he can be more of a Matt Moulson and less of a Michel Ouellet.

Ever since Dustin Jeffrey improved his skating 10 fold, I have hope for any single prospect improving their stride.

Yep a flawed stride can be corrected. Toews was a pretty ugly skater when he played for NDak but looks really good now. Hano doesn't have the foot speed to be fast but I'm hoping he improves his turning, balance and power like Tavares did.
He gets down in the grit and grime areas of the ice so being stronger on his skates is going to be a huge key for him.

He's pretty strong now. If you watch him he doesn't get knocked off the puck very often and he can protect it well when being bodied up. His goal was an absolute snipe job. Gets the puck in the circle on the left side, does this inside pirouette move that he does a lot, and roofs it over the goalie's shoulder in a space about the size of a coffee can. No goalie is stopping that. He set up goal two by picking off the puck from two bulldogs and threading a pass to Dowd who buried it. I wouldn't worry too much about his skating because his hands and his mind can make up for it.
He was tentative on Friday but that's to be expected after missing 5 games and really not even being able to go to practice or anything at the rink till Monday save those two games he watched against UND. UMD was also hitting him high and late which pissed me off but he didn't retaliate (I would have)
Saturday he looked like Hanowski again.
At what point do the Pens start moving dmen, prospects and NHL regulars, for more talented wingers?
Pouliot, Morrow, Despres, Maatta, Harrington, and Dumoulin all look to be sure fire NHLers, if not stars, and you also have Letang who isn't going anywhere.
Orpik or Martin or Niskanen packaged with a prospect and maybe a draft pick could bring in a very nice winger. Because it's no secret that the wings are the weakest spot on your loaded team, even with Beau Bennett progressing nicely.

It's really not as weak as some say, yes the prospect pool isn't really deep, but Bennett, Tangradi, Kuhnhackl say it's not as dire as it looks. It could have been made much stronger this past draft, but I digress.

The sooner we can trade Orpik or Martin for a legit scoring winger, the better.

Hopefully Niskanen improves on last season and we can trade him back to Dallas for Loui Eriksson & Jamie Oleksiak.
