Article just highlights everything I've seen from Harrington - character and leadership out the yin-yang. He's my dark horse to become the best NHLer of all our current prospects.

I'd like to see Maatta continue scoring like he did during last year's playoff run.

I think the Pens are big on drafting and signing character players and when the realise they may have made a mistake they cut them loose without the negative press. You always want good people in your organization but that's only one of many things that will determine their advancement to the NHL.

For sure. Fortunately, Harrington has the ability to match.

Harrington looks to have added a significant amount of upper body mass since the mid-point of last season.

I feel like Harrington could become a Ryan McDonaugh type player for Pittsburgh one day. He has some developing to do to get there but he's on the right track

I assume they got it from another source, or they've shot a few more vids which they're going to spoon feed us throughout the year.

Dumoulin

Is this guy going to make it as a puck mover? He seems to have good size and ability, but other than that I don't know much about this guy. I want to get him for my keeper league. I would appreciate some opinions on him.

He will be capable, but he will likely never be considered a true puck mover from what I've ready. Honestly, most of us have seen very little or nothing of him at this stage I'm assuming.

He's basically a Dan Girardi clone. Can move the puck, but is absolutely shut down D-wise. Put up a lot of points in college, no idea how that will translate to the pro game

That being said, you can't look to far into this, but he has 2 points (2 assists) so far through 2 AHL pre-season games

Derrick Pouliot scored a goal at 12:28 in the 1st period.

The score is currently tied at 1-1.

Another impressive game by Murray, stopped 39 of 41 in a 4-2 victory over Kitchener (Marcantuoni's team.) Marcantuoni still pointless on the season.

Pouliot scored first-period goal for Portland. Nice to see him off to a fast start this year. Has 3 goals and 6 points and is playing his 6th game right now. Forsberg who?

From what I've seen of him he doesn't strike me as a puck mover. More of a shut down guy. He's built like tight end & skates pretty well with that kind of size.

Really psyched that Bangbus is branching out into hockey news.

Glad Murray is playing well. Stats are not that good tho and since hes facing 40+ shots every game its hard to judge his level of play just looking at the stats. Defense need to step it up a notch tbh. He seems to have stolen a couple of games lately but giving up so many shots every game will for sure take its toll soon enough.

A bit dissapointed in Marcuantoni Does anyone know if hes in the top 6? getting any PP time?

Kuhnhackl went scoreless like 8-10 games in the start of the season 2 years ago before turing it up big time. Lets hope Marcuantoni does the same

Poulliot scoring at a PPG pace are what i expect of hom this year. Thats what Morrow did the season after he was drafted. Dont know if he can keep it up tho since winterhawks are scoring way fewer goals than last year.

Went to see Pouliot live in Brandon last night, and came away impressed. He was the best player on either side, IMO.

He's a fast, fluid skater, and his lateral mobility makes him hard to track down. Great rushing or passing the puck up-ice as he has a knack for finding seams, and while he doesn't have an imposing shot, he has a very accurate one. Strikes me as having a ton of composure and smarts at both ends, and really dictated the pace of the game.

Only thing is I wish he had a little more bite to his game. He doesn't seem to have that innate Letang/Morrow type fire.

Hmmmm, sounds a lot like GoGo. Would you say that he's much more closer to a Gogo type of player rather than Letang or Morrow?

In temperament, for sure. But he's a better skater than Gogo, and at a glance seems like a more composed and purposeful player at both ends.
