Francois Allaire?

Now that Allaire has stepped aside in Toronto he would be free to come to Philadelphia as the goalie coach, which frankly I would love to see. He has had quite a good track record (prior to being in TO) with helping goalies out (Roy, Giguere), he has also worked with Bryz before, during his Anaheim days.

What does everyone else think about bringing him in to Philly to help Bryz? Or would you rather stick with Reese?

You know those Ilya Bryzgalov-to-Toronto rumors we raised in our unrestricted free-agent primer Friday? Forget about 'em. A source told ESPN.com on Saturday that there is "no way" Toronto would chase Bryzgalov this summer.

Two reasons:

1. Maple Leafs goalie coach Francois Allaire and Bryzgalov don't get along from their days in Anaheim. "They can't work together," the source said.

I wasn't under the impression they didn't get along, I remember reading a previous interview Bryz did where he seemed to be crediting Allaire for teaching him how to be a NA goalie for the most part. Clicky.

Interesting. If there isn't some kind of detrimental drama there, I wouldn't mind giving him a chance. I haven't been impressed with Reese lately, and it's not like Allaire is at fault for Toronto's goaltending woes...he hasn't had anything to work with.

Let's steal either Nashville or Phoenix's goalie coach. They seem to always be pumping out good goalies

Mitch Korn is the name of Nashville's coach (everybody knows who Sean Burke is). He's known as one of the more innovative coaches of the position. And obviously his results aren't bad.

From what it sounds like Allaire's time has come and past his teachings are completely out of date.

That's what Brian Burke says because he's mad. In March he was the greatest goalie coach on the planet.

All we need is to get Mike Comrie on board as an assistant and then trade him to Phoenix for Burke, Radivojevic, and the rights to Ben Eager's coaching career
