Team building 101.

Hall is a smart kid that wants to play with the Oilers core. Says allot about Hall, not to mention Ebs, RNH, and Shultz. They're going to be giving some of the players down in OKC something to strive for when it comes to trying to make the big team. They'll get a good taste of what the future in the NHL could look like.

Heck I'm a fan of this lockout. We have a number of young studs that are considered "NHL ready" that could still stand to learn a lot from the AHL.

Maybe even Hemsky and Horcoff can return to post-lockout form.

I am very impressed with the character of our core. Man am I excited at the prospect of our farm club icing Hall, RNH, Eberle, Paajarvi, Harski, Lander, Pitlick, Schultz, Fedun, Teubert, and Marincin.

I'm hoping that the Hall to center experiment gets a try down in OKC.

This lockout will be known as the lockout of the Edmonton Oilers.

I'm so stoked for the baron's season, let's go!

Agggh, dammit, I wish I knew what the future held for the lockout. Those OKC Barons season tickets are looking REALLY tempting now.

Dooooo it

Even if the lockout ends in a month you still have one of the best teams in the AHL. Plus it'll be sick to watch Marincin play.

I know, I'm really trying to not spend a bunch of extra money this year. Especially since I'd have to take the whole family along... decisions, decisions...

Do it! And be sure to update us.

So glad to see Hall wants to play in OKC. What a team player. I made a thread about where our players are going to go a couple months ago. Nobody really expected Hall or Eberle to play in OKC, although that's what I was hoping for. It's nice to see these guys are team first, they're not just chasing money, they want to help build a winning team. I can't wait for Hall or Eberle to be the captain of the Oilers, either player will be great in that role.

I wonder what Petry, Dubnyk and Smid are planning... They're still developing and they need to play hockey.

Smid signed for a Czech team. Liberec?

Well that's rather odd... the okcbarons.com site is down. At least it is for me. I wanted to go back and look at pricing. Can anyone else get to it?

Scratch option one. Because #Oilers T Hall was not assigned to the #OKC Barons last week, he will not be playing in the AHL during lockout.

Joanne Ireland ‏@jirelandEJ

Europe is an option for Hall when the #Oilers winger is cleared to return from his surgically repaired shoulder.

Why can't Hall sign an AHL Contract?

I don't think that it's an open and shut case at this point although I could be wrong.

No idea. Personally I really wanted him in OKC with the others. Would be a very dumb rule if they are not allowed to assign him.

Not at the moment. None of the NHL players do. That's why they can sign in the KHL.

he is injured so he gets paid at his NHL salary if he gets better he has to go to the AHL at a reduce price so he will stay injured till the season starts.

No, they still have NHL contracts, and have to honour them when the NHL starts up again. Contracts aren't cancelled because of the lockout.

According to the Bruin's board, it wasn't an option for Seguin to play in the AHL. Apparently he has played too many NHL games to qualify...

The kid wants to play badly. Which is good because we just lost two forwards to injuries. Maxim Pestushko and Jan Kolar are going to be sidelined for about two months. Considering this, we will probably put Nail on a line with [Andrei] Subbotin and [Alex] Komaristy.
- Neftekhimik’s head-coach Vladimir Golubovich

Quote:
Subbotin is a 39-year-old veteran LW, who won KHL Faith to Hockey Award last season, while Komaristy is 22-year-old center, whom North American fans could remember from WJC’09 in Ottawa. This means Yakupov is likely to play on a third line

Man if Hall clears the IR and gets sent down to the AHL... it makes you wonder what players are going to get send to Stockton. Even they could end up being beasts.
