Interesting, if I was actually going to be available that weekend I'd go.

I'd actually spend that to go to a WHL city as well.

I'm conflicted. Want to do, because that would be awesome. Don't want to give my money to the club while the lockout is still in effect.

I can't imagine the Oilers are profiting a ton at $299 all-in.

This sounds really cool - anyone know how long the bus ride is?

They already took $4200 from me at the start of the season for my two empty seats.

Fair enough!

You should ask them if you can take $600 out of there and put it towards this.

Big win against Alaska in front of 8,000 fans tonight. Not many nights you'll win letting in 4 goals but the boys bailed me out.

Wow 8 thousand fans last night in California for the ECHL, pretty impressive.

Are the Barons a playoffs team when the NHL starts back up? Take away Eberle, RNH, Hall, Schultz, one of Hartikanien/Paarijavi, and probably Tuebert (with Sutton hurt). Maybe Danis as well. I think they are on the bubble.

If Nelson gets them back into the formula they used for success last year

They've been quite impressive. They've averaged more than what half of the AHL teams do. (6,000 - 6,700 avg)

ftr Saturday night in OKC was the car giveaway night and also with concert promotions and 2buck beers. 3,400 people attended. The value of the loaded Dodge Challenger given away would be +40K.

They give up a prize that represents half the gate. Have a pre party, dirt cheap beer, People still don't come out.

Barons are 100tickets sold away from being in last place in AHL attendance. Only one club slightly worse.

Nice to see Stockton getting good attendance. Maybe the deserve seeing some of our star players.

It's my understanding they're not actually "giving" the cars away. I believe I read they were 1 year leases, and you had to drive them plastered with OKC Barons advertising. I'm sure they've got a sponsorship deal with a Dodge dealership down in OKC.

Edit:

They do get to keep the car, but it must be wrapped in the OKC ad for 1 year, and they can't sell it until that year is up.

Its a pretty damn good deal. I'd drive a car wrapped in Lady Gaga advertising if it meant keeping a fully loaded Dodge Challenger on the road.

Just think as well. In order to win you have to fill out the entry, be wearing OKC jersey or paraphernalia, and buy tickets to the game. Theres probably a one in a thousand chance of winning the grand prize each time. They give 12 of these away so across a season you have a better than 1 in one hundred chance of winning if you attend each time.
Prettty incredible winning odds for a Jersey and a 15buck *raffle* ticket.

This car is worth more than most 550/50 draws at a packed rexall.

Amazing marketing effort, poor results.

The Barons will also pay for the removal of the ads after the year is up.

Sticker price, yes. But if they're getting a deal with a dealership down there, they aren't paying $40,000 for the car. (still a lot, and I get your point, but hey semantics are fun. )

Stockton has fans. Dunno why since it's the poorest city in the United States, but I think it's more because the ECHL is a bit of a goon fest, and Stockton loves fighting.

This has made it completely clear to me why Nick and Nate Diaz are are the way they are.

Pitlick, Hamilton and Martindale stats combined.

22 games 1 goal 5 assists

Those three might seem like an arbitrary combination to just throw out there, but I really had hopes for those three this year.
