hometown boys...

I lucked out being 15 mins away from the hershey and powerade center. They both deserve a chance at the RICOH.

There is a good amount of character in our prospect group. All of these prospects have been captains in junior:

Brown, Percy, Finn, Carrcik, Mcwilliams, Mckegg and Biggs (Biggs captained the US-18 team to gold, and scored the OT winner in the gold medal game).

7 of our prospects have been captains at a high - level of hockey. That's pretty good.

Junior is different. Mckegg was Captain on the worst OHL team in decades. Connor Brown was -72 last year, yes thats not a mis print. Carrick, Mcwilliams will never play in the NHL. Biggs is the only one, I agree with u there. Percy might be a future Assistant.

What is Junior different from?

All 7 of those prospects are/were captains of teams for which thousands of fans pay good money to watch them play every game. Either the coach or the team has decided that they are the best leader on a team of 20 + prospects. That means something. What level of hockey are prospects supposed to lead at to demonstrate that they're leaders? Obviously at the level of hockey they play in, which is junior.

Junior is different than Pro. Would u like to bet that all 7 will be captains in the NHL? Its not happening man.

Andrew MacWilliam, 7th round pick, is going into his senior year at UND. It was a typoP. Big physical D-man.

"Plenty of character guys in the organization which is always nice to see."

No, it just means they're character players.

Which is nice to see.

No need to get offended. The guy was just commenting that a lot of our recent picks have turned into team captains; usually a good indication of character and leadership.

Im not offended at all. Just think its a stretch. I think we have very little in the way of captain material.

But they already are captains.

I think you've misread the title of this thread. This isn't about other "prospects" for the Leafs' captaincy, it's about other Leafs' "prospects" who are captains.

What one of those 7 do u see being the Captain of the LEafs? I only could see Biggs and Im not dialed in totally to his character. It appears to be captain like. If your a captain in the O, thats cool but doesnt mean your an NHL captain. There is a difference.

The person you were responding to said 'character guys'. Not every character guy is going to be or has to be the Captain. Mike Brown has a ton of 'character' (heck, so did Tim Brent, that one season) and they won't ever be captains in the NHL.

Mike Brown yes Im a huge fan. If the team had his work ethic they would be in the playoffs. Brown works his assss off. As far as Brent, im speechless. He blocked 2 shots on the PK one game , u remember that? And was given heaps of praise and love. It was an over reaction as far as im concerned. ITs funny though that they let him walk after the season if he had so much character.

I do remember that but that was just one of his displays that season. He was really great in a bottom 6 role for us that year but I guess the numbers didn't work out or TOR felt they had a better replacement who was attainable.

I think they didnt like him enough to bring him back thats all. I think it was a huge mistake to get rid of Dominic Moore. LOved his effort. But we all know that the issues with Burke and his brother led to his departure. Moore played his buttt off and was perfect in the bottom 6.

Prospects that is captain in junior > prospect that is equally as skilled

Not sure why this is even being discussed haha.
