No joke, I had the same thing happen in my league.

Beaulieu and a 1st for Spacek and a 3rd.

"The Habs are proud to bring in Spacek, he should help with the team" said the email....

I did re-loaded my old save.

Plekanec is overseas while we have hardworking NA players like Darche who would die to wear the CH! Trade that Euro Plekanec for the rights to Angelo Esposito!

What the heck was JM thinking last year.

At the beginning of the year he stated that Cole would not be on the Habs #1 PP...yet Cole finished with 11 power play goals. How can this coach be so out of touch and yet have still held down a coaching job in the NHL ?

Martin increased Cole's PP time as the season went on. In the last game before Martin was fired, Cole played 7:57 out of the team's 12:50 on the PP. Cole's PP ice time in the first few games had little, if anything to do with the Habs' failed season.

Cole had also, statistically speaking, never been a powerplay performer at any point in his career. Not that Martin shouldn't have tried him there earlier when our PP was struggling, but it's not like Cole had been making a name for himself on the PP until he got to Montreal either.

Yeah no kidding. Everything went so well too after they fired him.

What's amusing is that your ignorance, and your own capacity to be out of touch, just complimented Martin's coaching.

Cole was, as hototogisu mentioned, statistically a below average PP player but good ES player. As such, Martin was correct to assert that Cole's strength would be felt more on ES than PP. And despite critics claiming that Martin couldn't adapt, you opened the door to show that Martin did in fact give Cole more PP ice time as the season wore on, proving that Martin didn't have the bullheaded ego restricting his capacity to adapt.

Well done.

Not to mention, although Cole got a lot of goals on the PP for himself, the team wasn't doing so hot with him on the ice.

Although Cammalleri and to some extent Pacioretty were the only historically exceptional PP wingers the team had so once he was traded away there wasn't anyone potentially better than Cole.

Even with his goal scoring, Cole was getting points at a worse rate than 6 of the previous year's regular PP forwards for example. A big reason for his PP scoring was just that he was getting a lot of PP ice-time for lack of better options.

The only thing I fault Martin with in regard to the Cole PP issue is not speculating that even if Cole was historically not a PP performer, when the team was suffering from injuries Martin still chose to use Darche before Cole on the PP.

But using an otherwise limited hockey player as a screen isn't anything new, and Darche was in the NHL to begin with in part for his willingness to take abuse in front of the net. In fact the great Therrien has already proposed to use Prust on the PP in a similar role.

He's pretty jacked. He's bigger than Moen. Eller is still my favorite player on this team. He's still progressing, people shouldn't write him off.

I remember last year when Chara was continuously crushing him, but Eller was absorbing it like a pro, and only went down the third time he got hit. He went down a few times after that (Chara was in Hulk mode), but he was always quick to spring to his feet.

Eller is one of my favourites and behind only Subban, Price and Pacioretty in who I'd hate to see us lose. He still has a lot of upside. And he's apparently a physical beast of a man.

Not wanting to be the debby downer but Eller's core implies that he squats and deadlifts heavy like there's no tomorrow but also highly suggest he uses/used HGH (growth hormones) at some point in his life. Anyway, a good chunk of players used/are using roids so Eller might as well become a freaking beast lol. HUGE quads/gluts/core, might be as hard to get him off the puck as it was with Jagr.

Yes HGH use does cause that protruding abs...but it's not the only way to get that, some people just have huge frames like that. Emelin and AK also have that although less toned, it's possible all are juicing but they might also just be big people. If Eller is juicing he's not alone but it's just speculation and probably not an accusation you want to make...
