I have a binder full of blinders to anyone that thinks this is a done deal
Turning the proposal to the public? It sounds like amateur hour to me but I haven't read the proposal to figure out the reason to do so. Of course, I don't care about October hockey, and dont really care if a deal gets done right now since we have RGIII.
Has Kadri shown any indication that he'll be a legit NHLer? I've only read the occaisional thread or article on the kid...so take it for what little it's worth...but he seems to be a classic not gonna reach his potential guy. I hope he makes it but...

Here is what Nick Kypreos had to say regarding Nazem Kadri's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs:
- Nick Kypreos is hearing that the Washington Capitals offered a 1st round pick and a roster player for Nazem Kadri
- Nazem Kadri will be a RFA once his entry level contract expires in one or two years from now
- Nick Kypreos thinks that Kadri won't re-sign with the Maple Leafs and could make $2 million per year playing in Europe until his entry-level contract expires
- Europe is an option for Kadri if he wants to escape from Toronto

this is not new kadri talk from kypreos. the offer of a 1st round pick is based on mcphee from the trade deadline. mcphee has said that he acquired the additional first round pick with the intent of adding a top 6 forward at the deadline. he said that there was not a deal there to be found.
i further understand that mcphee's initial offer of the 1st was rebuffed by burke which backs up mcphee's statements on the subject. the pick has now been used and i would say the offer of a 1st is no longer valid.
