I'm just saying the players position, if it has changed since August, was poorly presented by Fehr during the media scrum.

That's not the only thing in question, the PA proposal doesn't guarantee that a 50/50 is ever achieved, it does guarantee that they never lose a single dollar from where they are currently though. Essentially...

NHL: We go to 50/50 now and pay you back your losses over time
NHLPA: We keep everything we have now and we potentially go to 50/50

Also, it amazed me how you guys constantly change your counter arguments after your "facts" are disproved and yet you never think, hm, maybe I'm just looking at this the wrong way.

What facts of mine have been disproved?

Considering that revenue has gone up every year since the last lockout, that potential is more than likely met. Plus there are a number of issues like UFA age, ELC contract length, term limits that haven't been touched upon.

But again, please paint me as the one "taking a side" when it's pretty obvious that you've done the same.

The entire financial debate last week was clearly laid out against you and you go "oh yeah well the PA surely wouldn't make a mistake like that."

More than likely but not guaranteed. The PA is asking the business owner to take even more unnecessary risk on because the players simply want more money, they don't care about the health of NHL teams, they want money.

I'm on the side of hockey and always have been, the PA's proposal hurts hockey, the NHL's helps, so yes, in that sense I'm on one side. Until the players, hopefully, start being reasonable.

An aside from the owners vs. players debate...

I heard Chelsea's Dagger today for the first time in months. It's been too long.

Last week I had given zero input on this argument, but please continue to post vague blanket statements.

So your contention is that a union and its team of accountants didn't do its homework and I'm the one grasping at straws?

Michael Russo ‏@Russostrib

Fehr admitted in presser he didn't run #'s to Option 3. So players take to Twitter saying they offered 50/50 when union boss didn't run #'s?

Sounds like it's just another option he threw in there last minute. I would like to see the players be made whole but deferred. You honor the contracts but you don't pay immediately what is below their percentage after this year. It give the owners some financial wiggle room but guarantees their contracts.

If there is no season, the players lose out on an entire year of pay.

Pr ******** spin because option 3 was never going to work. Again, i am hardly blindly behind the players.

Not exactly from what I read. There is a possibility it would come from the player's share.

Ya the players pay into escrow and if numbers aren't met, the owners take the players money. Its not guaranteed they ever see a dime of what they pay into escrow.

The league has far better owners than they did 13 years ago overall. Bad owners do more to ruin the league than a bad cba. The players will not have the leverage to push the owners like that, the revenue outside of gate receipts just isn't there in the nhl like the other major sports.

The players have not offered any solutions that have been any better or more sustainable for the health and growth of the league than anything the owners have done. I don't trust either side, but i trust the players much much less. Besides, gary and the owners learned their lesson in 95' about taking too much of the pa's input.
ding ding ding!

NHL players will receive escrow check by end of this month.

Last season's escrow reconciliation now official: Amount payable to each player is 7.98% of contract pay, or $79,800 for each $1M of salary.
So all players will be getting paid this year during the lockout.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun

Spoke with a team exec who says there's either a labor deal this week or there's no season. Not sure it's that clear-cut but who knows..
Pretty much this reality

Either a deal gets done or there will be no NHL season
