Good stuff. Winnie has always been a hard worker but is often injured. Karlsson in the meantime is globetrotting the NHL.

Can't believe there isn't a single team in the league that couldn't use Winchester on the 4th line. Weird

Ya that's surprising assuming he has no symptoms. Hell we could use him

He's symptom free, healthy and able to play normally.

There's an interesting article in Iltalehti [Evening Paper]: http://www.iltalehti.fi/smliiga/2013...17595_sm.shtml

Jokerit GM Jarmo Kekäläinen says about Winchester that there aren't many players available like Winchester who could have signed a NHL contract but weren't happy with the terms of the offered contract and decided to play in Europe instead.

So I can only speculate that Jesse negotiated with Ottawa but didn't get a contract he was happy with.

It wouldn't have to be Ottawa, per se.

The quote is probably referring to a two way contract

Winchester played his second game today. It was a more solid effort than his first game. This time he played second line center.

JAN 31, 2013: JOKERIT @ TAPPARA 3 - 2
G 0, A 1, P 1, +/- -1, S 6, PIM 0, TOI 19:10

Jesse after 2 games: G 0, A 2, P 2, +/- 0, S 10, PIM 0, average TOI 20:26.

Highlights, Jesse's assist is the first Jokerit goal on PP: http://www.nelonenpro.fi/videot/media/507010
