Nope.
Bruins don't rush youngsters. He'll be eased into role and minutes.

Defiinately .

The funny thing to me after watching this game for over 40 years I have NEVER seen a player ruined by taking baby steps.

On the other hand the hockey grave yard if full of rushed kids.

But what do I know?

Ruined.

As for Hamilton, I call Game 3 for the first "he's ruining the kid!" post. If they ever %*&^()*& start the season.

pretty sure if the season doesn't start on time, he won't be able to play this year.

News came out last week that if the season doesn't start on time, junior aged players will have a chance to make the pro team when the league starts up again.

D-men take longer to develop and Chiarelli/Julien know this. They'll let him grow him as he does. Our organization has developed three of the top three defencemen of all time. Be patient and enjoy.

Now after the Bruins assigned him to Niagara ... is he eligible to play in Boston at any point in the following season?

i believe once the season starts, if he doesn't make it with the bruins he stays in the OHL. He has to make the team from day 1, no call ups. Also if they try him out for 10 games and then send him down, he can't return to the B's.

Ya there's some sort of agreement between the CHL and NHL with the lockout. If/When the season starts late then the player will be called to their NHL teams if they want them.

Clearly, they need to move him to center.

Boychuk is clearly the odd man out... He needs to be moved.

But in all seriousness he'll be playing like 8 mins a game with no PP time and benched for periods/games at a time.

Don't draft him.

I would love to see him play big minutes and contend for the Calder but I dont see it happening. Claude (people need to spell his damn name right) is a coach who doesnt play his rookies very often and with the logjam of established dmen here in Boston he might not see too much of him in season one

I agree,I don't think he will play big minutes but one never knows.I think he is exactly what the B's defence needs,a boost of youthful enthusiasm,a big kid who can skate.

If the season doesn't start on time and get's underway only in December/January, I just don't think it's best to bring him up after words, just stay in the Juniors at this point and see you in camp next year with a great shot at making the team

I think you're underestimating Claude. He's more than winning to play a rookie as long as that rookie demonstrates that he's ready to take the reins. Seguin and Caron weren't ready for that, but a lot of rookies have played regularly from day one -- Marchand and Lucic spring to mind pretty quickly, also Boychuk, Wheeler, Krejci, McQuaid, Stuart, and more than a few others.

The thing Julien does is make a rookie earn his trust before he trusts the rookie. If a rookie does that he plays. If not, Claude doesn't take leaps of faith.
