Got Havlat for a steal, 3500 pucks. Think I'll just use him though and replace Grabner with him on the 2nd line LW.

Not gonna lie, I was kinda mad considering that was the final game for 1500 pucks. At least, I won 688 pucks in that game.

My lines look like this today:

Heatley - Koivu (C) - Seto
Bouchard - Cullen - Mitchell
Powe - Brodziak - Clutterbuck
Kassian - Konopka - Palmieri

Suter - Spurgeon (A)
Scandella - Gilbert
Falk/Stoner - Kampfer/Prosser

Backstrom
Harding
Hackett

All Wild cards. Team chemistry: 95

Not really a steal.

I got him for less than 2000 pucks and sold him for 15,000 pucks. I also sold P. Kane for 72,000 pucks.

Ummmm. . . . if I get a player for five times less than market value, that's very much a steal. Do you see multiple Havlats going for under 4 k every day? No. Just because you got one cheaper than I did doesn't mean mines not a steal. Can't believe someone would buy a P. Kane for 72 k when there's multiple Kanes going for around 40 k every day.

Somebody's jelly?

I got Semin for free and I'm selling him. Also, I saw an Ovie card for 1M.

Haven't really been home so that is why I never joined the GM Connect with you guys. I'm basically already done playing this game to be honest. AC:3 comes out in a few weeks

I've gone from about 100 k in pucks down to less than 2000 in just a couple days by spending them on a bunch of players (most of which I intend to re-sell) but I've bought so many players I don't have any room in my trade pile and the cards in my current trade pile are still up for another whole day.

Saw that 1M Ovie as well. Damn. By the way, is Heatley/Backstrom the most expensive Wild card in HUT? Suter and Parise aren't part of the Wild team in HUT, right?

You're correct.

Also, Parise is so expensive. 100k+. Yet, I got Suter for 6000 pucks then changed his card for a Wild one.

Backstrom goes for around 17 k, Heater goes for around 15 k, and Koivu goes for around 13 k. After that it's a steep drop off to probably Gilbert, Harding and Seto at around 2-3 k.

So besides Microsoft points, is just playing games the only way to accrue more pucks? I'm only getting between 350 - 510 per game and at this rate. Is that normal or do I suck that much? lol

Play the market. Buy low, sell high. Always be on the lookout for steals on players.

Good idea, but how long will (or should) it take to get a top line of guys that are in the 90s? My highest ranked player is the Tenderness.

And do you get more pucks the more goals you score? I am still having one heck of a time burying the puck. All but one game was either 1-0 or 2-1 OT.

I moved Granlund up to 4 stars and made them green and after 2 years he is only at 79. Growth of 3, I believe. Pathetic. Top line AHL minutes. Wtf.

In the 90s?

Not even Stamkos or Malkin are a 90 so think about how many pucks you'd have to accumulate to get a line with guys that good. The only players even in the 90s are Crosby, Ovi and a couple of the legends. Training only lasts one game so if I were you I'd be shooting for a line of mid 80s players. My top line is Gagne 86 - Duchene 86 - Kessel 86 and their market value is nearly 100 k in pucks altogether. Luckily I found Duchene for a steal price of 4500 and pulled Kessel from one of my free pre-order packs. Gagne is the only one I had to buy at market value.

To get the most pucks, play single player games (not tournament) and set it on superstar difficulty. You'll get 800-1000 pucks for every win. I actually find it easier to play on Superstar than on Pro difficulty.

I hope that is true because the pace of Pro seems almost too slow for me, my reactions are too premature it seems. But I don't know if that is going to help me in the scoring dept.

I always speed up the games. I can't play unless it is high speed. Otherwise its too slow and isn't much fun for me. Its hard to play online for me since it is so slow. I like a faster game. More realism.

Thinking about more realism. Trading it in and getting a Madden.

Don't be afraid to fire the puck on net from anywhere. Rebounds are a lot more effective now than they were in 12 and you'll see quite a few more goals go five hole as well.

I score most of my goals with a snapshot to the corner or a quick deke in front of the goalie.

I rarely get time in the slot. Too fast for that. Just shoot from wherever. It is possible to catch goalies off guard in this game. Not every shot has to be perfectly set up. That and 5-hole works more than you think.

Just got a Gionta for 100 BIN. What is the point in that? You'd make more pucks just by discarding him than selling him that cheap.
