Because he signed and NHL contract and is now with Norfolk in the AHL. And even if he still was here Lundqvist would arguably be a better option in net, think I heard something about some Vezina trophy, whatever that is.
Oh, I assumed Andesen was still under contract. Silly mistake.

Yeah, I'm assuming Fasth and Andersen will split starts? Two of the top SEL netminders.

Nash with 3 goals, 1assist and Thornton with 4 assists after 2 periods. I never realised that our league is that bad
I will post the highlight video after the game for you guys.
That's just not fair.

Unless you have a residence in Switzerland, there are sadly no streams you could watch.

This would be awesome! Thanks for coming by with updates.

Frölunda could really need Lundqvist just to get the fans back. They have lost something like 1/3 of the crowd over the last two seasons. Having Henrik&Karlsson back would "guarantee" full house every night.
Lundqvist should rest up all he can before the season starts.
Him going back to Sweden and playing in a scrub league isn't going to do anything other than put him at risk for injury.
He's an elite hockey player. He's not going to forget how to play the sport all of the sudden if he takes a few months off. Same with Nash.
As elite hockey players, I trust that they know more about what it takes to remain an elite hockey player than we do. If they think playing is best for them, it probably is.
This is just a horribly ignorant statement. At worst the SEL is the world's 3rd best hockey league. Many would argue it is #2.
The snobbery going on in here is almost intolerable. 90% of people bashing the European leagues have never even watched a handful of their games.
Quoted for truth. Many people don't realize how big hockey can be in Sweden. When Sweden played in the gold metal game in the Olympics, almost every TV in Sweden was registered as having watched some part of the game. When Sweden was in the finals of the World Championship a couple of years ago over 2.8 million people watched it. Not bad for a country with about 9.4 million people. Imagine the headlines of that many people in the NYC area watched a Ranger game.
And guess who is one of the biggest stars in Sweden. Yep, Henke. He's a sports star rolled up in a rock star package. I don't think he really has any choice.
