Subban : Habs - Flyers talked.

http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/347805.html

I guess Bertrand Raymond is reading HFBoards.

I skimmed through the article quickly, but correct me if I am wrong, it's all speculation, right?

Basically. Typical RDS looking to create a story.

I would imagine Bergevin gets calls on a regular basis about Pacioretty, Subban, Price, etc...other GMs wouldn't be doing their job otherwise.

Raymond completely forgets to mention that there is a lockout coming and it's probably the #1 reason why Subban isn't signed yet, or that several other players coming out of ELC are in the same boat.

I'm sure the Flyers are calling about a lot of defencemen this fall. They have a pretty serious need on the blue line, and a surplus of talent up front. They might as well kick the tires on Subban, but hopefully Bergevin killed that idea right away. Maybe they'll go around the league, come up empty, and take Kaberle off our hands? They need someone who can play on the PP.

Nobody is touching my Subban! Seriously, The Flyers can look elsewhere for a D because we have no one to replace him right now. Sure we have Beaulieu, but he still has to get some experience in the AHL and adapt himself to the speed of the game.

As said in the article, Subban is one of the biggest seller in T-shirts, jerseys so we have to sign him but it will be after the NHL/Players agreement (if there is one) in order to have a better deal.

Exactly. The Flyers probably talked to NYR about MDZ and WASH about Carlson. I hate how Bertrand Raymond always try to be the know it all pessimist. Plus, the way that jackass right his articles, he'll need to name his source(s) before I believe him. God. He just write in a way that he puts his opinions as facts. Why does every texts he writes has to be the front page of rds.ca? Moron.

I don't want him traded, but if something happened and the Habs traded Subban to the Flyers for Couturier i'm pretty sure the marketing and sales department won't take that much of a beating. The Habs will always sell t-shirts, and those people with already a Subban shirt would need a replacement!!

The worst part is during the lockout, RDS and all their columnists/talking heads will be even more thirsty for any kind of story, so expect a lot more of this type of gossip like stuff in order to generate ratings and hits on their website.

Let's make something clear. The Flyers aren't the only team to have inquired about Subban's availability.

Eric Engels ‏@EricEngels
#Flyers are also not the only team to ask #habs if they'd match any offer (they will).

Eric Engels ‏@EricEngels
Will the Canadiens trade Subban? No. Point Finale.

Raymond said it's confirmed by a source as he said that there might have been talks with an other team but he could not confirmed with a source. As much a we all dislike him, he might realy have had a inside source on that one.

If we trade him to the Flyers, it has to start with Couturier.

But, we must keep Subban!

I would swap Subban for Couturier.

And then try to trade plekanec for a young D-Prospect.

Galchenyuk - Couturier - Eller would be a nice mixte down the middle for years to come.

And that would stop those Subban distraction in and out the locker room.

Not a bash on Subban, its just that, you know, Couturier is an awesome hockey players too.

Screw that. They want Subban? It should be Giroux or bust. Couturier is nowhere near the player Subban currently is.

Also, re-reading the article, Bert is already trying to drum up the ''Therrien will hate Subban's enthusiasm angle'' when we haven't even had one practice yet. Ugh, screw the media in this town.

Statheads would probably tell you otherwise with their corsi stats and all that other stuff. Giroux is more valuable obviously, but there's a far greater gap between Subban and Couturier than between Giroux and Subban.

So what? It's not really news, since GM talk to one another all the time and I'm sure there are 20+ teams that asked Bergevin if Subban might be available.

Yes, because you have been in the locker room and know of all this bad blood in there right ? Please enough with the speculation, you don't know crap about what is truly going on in the room. I do know from CP himself that PK is well liked and CP considers him one of his best friends.
The only distraction, is from people like you, who invent crap.

Absolutely !!!! The best example is the Flyers themselves. They can find pretty good forwards, but hey when it comes to pretty good defensemen...They aint stirring up ****. A really good defenseman will always have more value than a very good forward.

Giroux for Subban or NOTHING at all.

Raymond is retarded

The only reason Subban ain't sign yet is the lock out. Of course Bergevin will listen to any offer and he will accept a deal if the Flyers overpay.

It's the same for every players on the team.

I'd let them have Subban if we get Giroux in return.
