David Krejci Close to signing with Pardubice

Not official yet but will likely leave this weekend.

The article also mentions Seidenberg will go to Mannheim if he decides to go back. His younger brother plays for them as well.

There were reports last night that Chara was signing with Bratislava, captained by former Bruin, Miro Satan.

Bergeron, Ference and Seguin all undecided.

Close to home, so it's not a surprising choice for him. Godspeed, Krech. Come back soon.

I keep reading that transfer cards aren't being issued to players so it could prevent them from playing overseas.

Actually kind of surprised the KHL is a part of the IIHF - does the KHL really need them?

What an obnoxious roadblock for the players though.

Shall we take bets to see which Bruin suffers a season ending injury?

It seems, that Ference should be playing in the Czech republic for Hc Ceske Budejovice.

He said he's staying put for now but him returning to Budejovice would make perfect sense.

NBCSN should try and get rights to KHL games with all the good players signing there.

If I'm not native to north America and I'm being offered big money to play hockey at home. Why am I not signing. Why am I coming back regardless of what offer is put on the table unless it's exactly what I want it to be.

Makes sense for some players but there is still a large % of Europeans that are proud to be NHL'ers and will come back, even for a little less money.

The only European league offering money comparable to the NHL is the KHL, and there are a significant number of players who don't want to play in Russia. Pardubice is a port in a storm for Krejci, but it's the Czech League. Neither the money nor the challenge is close to the NHL.

God this sucks.

I keep telling myself they'll come to terms and this isn't going to happen.

Can't bear it.

Come on, this again?

If you were a professional hockey player you'd probably be bored and tired of weightlifting and conditioning by now, too.

Don't blame hockey players wanting to play hockey, blame the whole lockout cluster****

0, anyone going to play in Europe or the KHL all have one thing in common, all are non-contact leagues

Thankfully most of the European leagues seem to be putting restrictions on NHLers based on nationality. So, Canadians generally won't be allowed in Russia, Americans won't be allowed in Slovakia, etc. etc.

I guess the Swiss-A league is going to be a bit more liberal though.

EDIT: Looks like I'm a bit slow on the news seeing as J. Thornton and Nash already signed in Switzerland.

agree Lou. so if Krejci for example gets hurt and the lockout ends what the heck happens to his contract for this year? If I'm Boston I aint paying 5.25 prorated for a guy who got hurt playing overseas. I understand there is insurance but it can't be that simple especially if the injury is say something that could take only a couple of month but why would Boston or anyone esle assume that crap
