Ya, I'm not really impressed with the way Barch has been handling himself during the lockout.

I don't like Barch either. Perhaps I'm prejudging him, but he seems like someone who will cry, and ***** if he's left off the playoff roster like Janssen, and Boulton were last year. Boulton seemed to complain a little bit too, but not to the point Barch seems like he possibly could.

He's not really doing anything wrong. It's just really annoying and useless.

I, for one, am glad he`s doing what he`s doing. Never been a fan of his, this way he can piss Lou off before he makes a single stride for the Devils. Me likey.

Well, they apparently had some time to finish the Islanders to Brooklyn deal, right?

When you're a replaceable dime-a-dozen goon, running your mouth off in a politically charged climate is literally the stupidest thing a person could ever do. Especially when you haven't even started with your newest employer yet.

Marty interview. Says he suffered a minor injury in scrimmage.

"Just a little break on the tip of my finger, so I can’t really do anything right now," said Brodeur, who says he’s been off the ice for about a week because of it. "If there was NHL, I’d probably play. But I’m not going to go skate with four guys with it.

Token beginning of season injury. Hopefully that's it.

I hope he does play somewhere, though. He needs to find his groove before the season starts.

At his age, rustiness is a real concern. Same with Moose. I'd rather they both play, even if it would be weird seeing him in any sweater besides the Devils and Team Canada.

I feel the same way. We've seen for years now how rusty Marty looks during the first month of the season. Going back to the last lockout when it ended in 05. The only really good first month he's had was probably in 08, but then he got injured. That was the only year since that the Devils began consecutive seasons with the same coachs/system. Wouldn't be surprised if that played into it to an extent too.

He hasn't said he won't come back, he's just saying that things are going pretty well for him over there. And he's right, they are.

This lockout is so annoying.

A disinterested party at work has been asking me if I'm selling my retro jerseys because they are all retros since the NHL is dead. =/ c'mon man

Just a random though since this thread was bumped. We really could make up a lot of scoring production from last year lost from Parise, and possibly Sykie not only from Josefson having a good year. Tedenby, Butler who both haven't been the most impressive in Albany this year(Butler has sucked really bad particularly) but from getting 10 more goals from our defensemen than we had last year. Which would bring us to 26.

Most nights our defense pretty much could have been 3 Dano's, and 3 Colin White's as far as ability to score goals go.

Random proposal...but would you trade Adam Larsson for Taylor Hall? We'd probably have to add a bit.

I think I would.

Oilers probably wouldn't though. What about for Yakupov?

Depending on Merrill`s condition/long-term health. I`d think about it (in Yakupov`s case).

I`d much rather go after Tarasenko w/o giving up Larsson, if that`s possible (not likely).

I don't think I would. Long term, we have a decent forward corps as long as we have Kovy playing at an elite level. Larsson is the #1 defenceman of the future, and those are harder to find.
