I'm not sure we do have a decent forward corps for the future though. Zajac, and Clarkson are set to become UFA's. We got Henrique, and then we got Josefson who is making the AHL look like mopping a floor right now. Then we have Tedenby, and Butler who are both struggling.

I would trade Zajac before Larsson. I would trade Zajac before Josefson too. I have a BAD feeling he's walking when he becomes UFA. I don't think he'll go to Winnipeg. I think he'll go to Minnesota before that if they're not in cap hell. I would trade Zajac. I would offer him a contract extension first, but that clearly won't happen just yet.

^ You know I just thought of something :

Where is Sykora in all of this?

Is he just sitting at home playing with his chinchillas or did he go overseas to play?

Pretty sad. Considering his replacement will probably be Butler who hit two posts in OT tonight, and one in the shootout. Not to mention 1 point in 6 games, and playing first line minutes.

Come on Butler won't be getting anywhere near first-line minutes.

I don't think he will either in the NHL. I don't know if he'll be getting any minutes.

If he does get to the NHL however I meant Sykie's roster spot would go to him though.

For that reason, Sykora wont rush to sign anywhere, but he knows he will have to make a decision should the lockout stretch into December.

I want to start playing before Christmas, he said. I have offers where I can play. Its basically up to me when I decide to start playing. Im not going to wait until January because the seasons in Europe they basically get done in March. So, I dont have a deadline, but I think Im going to be playing before Christmas.
So this is it. If the Lockout doesn't end before December, he might as well retire since he'll be 37 next season(if there is a next season).

I don't see him retiring. He's got more hockey left in him. Even if it means 4th line plug somewhere. I don't think he's hit rock bottom yet Sykie. He may also have topped out last year. This break might be helping him more than anyone considering he looked good for much of last season. Then again because of his age it might not be helping him.

I agree, he won't retire. He proved last season that he's still got it, someone will be willing to give him a chance in a bottom 6 or complementary forward role.

It's depressing that there's no Devils news for over 2 days now.

Usually around this time, we'd have interviews, quips from TG, and all the other hockey-related and Devils-related good stuff.

I wonder if he'll beg to at least drive the bus again?

Once again it sucks when people who wanna be here badly(Sykie, Brian Gionta) are not offered contracts, and then some bozo who knows he doesn't wanna be here causes the most important player in team history to wait in line for a contract, and strings the team on for 4 days. And yes I know Marty didn't mind but still.

Speaking of that bozo, wasn't he supposed to make his first visit back to New Jersey this weekend?

Ya, it was scheduled for the 11th. Now we won't see him in NJ for another two years, I think.

Wonder why? To conspire about Clarkie joining Winnipeg as a UFA this Summer?

I think what they should do as far as scheduling goes is use this seasons 82 game schedule next year. It would save them a lot of time of having to make a schedule. Maybe they might have to move certain games a night back or front since the dates fall on different days.

I was looking forward to Parise getting a nice ovation since it was fresh in peoples minds. I think if that game happened this year Parise gets more heat than Gomez, and Holik. By far he definitely would.

''I wanna go to a winner, money isn't the most important thing!, Don't worry I'm coming back! We're all gonna miss Oatsie here next year! I think we'll be back in this thing and try again next year! No way I go to the Rangers!'' That last one was the only true thing.

I think Parise saying he wanted to stay here was as much BS as Brent Sutter saying he got home sick only to sign with Calgary, and take the job up there a week later. That rumor broke halfway through the 08/09 season too. Rumor broke halfway through last season that Parise, and Suter were gonna be a package deal, and sign with the same team this Summer. In the Spring around the ECF it started heating up too. Only the team they were supposed to go to was Detroit. Obviously they didn't have the money for Zach, just Ryan. So Zach got Minny to fork up the money for Ryan.

more info at TGs site. something about a points system and teams can only dress '60 points' a game (the 2 are 4 pts players each) and rosters have to be set by the 12th.

I think they are ok with points in a team, cause of lot young homegrown players. Roster deadline is 12th, but they can add 3 players (or exchange) afterwards. Perhaps they didn't want to waste that for shortterm players.
Or that rumor that they have had some words with coach is indeed true. Idk, that doesn't sound like Clarkie. But team announced they decided to leave unexpectedly.
Lockout ending in eyesite ? Hopefully. Though I was pumped to see him live
Our Rent-a-Penguin is still here and we will let go three other players cause of point-system. Unless that changes unexpectedly

In a way, this Lockout is a blessing in disguise for that Rat. The hate and vitriol would've calmed down by the time he and his wife(Suter) come into the Rock.

From TG.....looks like Whitey is joining the group skates

Quote:
Greene said there were “seven, eight guys” in addition to Brodeur and Hedberg, who skated today at Prudential Center, where they are renting out ice time during the lockout. That group included center Travis Zajac, who had been in Winnipeg for most of the lockout, and former Devil Colin White, who remains without a contract after playing for San Jose last season, but still has a home in New Jersey.

NOOOO!!!! I love White too, and wish he got to end his career here. Though now that he's gone we don't need him back. I would only want him back as a 7th defenseman if we had to have him back, and at Harrold's price. Harrold is the better option right now though, and brings more offense.

Besides with how little goal scoring we get from our defense, we may as well have 3 Colin White's out there. 3 Colin White's, and 3 Dano's! I can see Colin coming back as a coach in some role eventually though in the organization. Perhaps in Albany.

The problem with Whitey wasn't that he wasn't serviceable. He was just on a BAD contract like Pandolfo. Only Pando was not serviceable in the least anymore right before he left.
