I think it sucks that they want to sell. Anschutz was an owner that stood back and let hockey people run a hockey team and gave the funds to build a championship team. Hopefully the next owner will be the same.
He definitely took a page from the Buss' playbook. The title page, as it were.
I'm a little annoyed at how the local media is handling this. "AEG is for sale so what's gonna happen to the future plans of getting an NFL team blah blah blah". What about the ****ing reigning Cup champs Kings?
Yeah, even with a championship, the media is treating the Kings the same old way, as they have in all summers past.
Amazing, isn't it? Thank God for Twitter and Philip Pritchard, the keeper of the Cup!
Hell NHL die hard fans don't even care. Plenty of people are already saying it was a Fluke run.
The NFL dominates America, it will until we are all long gone and dead.
Hockey is an after thought.
Yeah. Last MNF's controversial ending dominated LA sports talk radio this week and this is a city that does not have an NFL team. When Brad Doty scored that controversial GWG against the Jackets last year, no one was talking about it.
**** the LA media and **** handegg even if we get a team here.
No, Moreno bought the team in 2003. 2003 was also the last season when they Angels had "Anaheim" on their road jerseys. **** him.
Disney reverted back to all-red back in 2002. Only a few changes have been made since the Moreno era. Obvipusly, the stupid LAAoA name change and the name of the stadium. From Edison International Field to Angel Stadium of Anaheim. What's with the "of Anaheim" in Anaheim sports? Let's not forget the Ducks used to be called the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim instead of Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
Correct Disney cashed in on the Angels winning then sold the team to Arty who has tried getting them back there by spending a lot of money and the name change to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim was for marketing. The of Anaheim was added because I believe the city sued the team cause of the change think that's why the stadium is also called what it is if I remember right. I love the angels but I do not like the name they have now I believe it should be Anaheim Angels.
For starters, it mentions the Raiders, Rams, Chargers, and the Jags as the 4 teams interested in coming to LA.
Says teams need to have a contingency agreement with the Rose Bowl or Coliseum to play starting in 2013 while their stadium is being built.
Says they want two teams to move to LA.
Says that teams must explain to the league why moving to LA is their only option (like why the Raiders should move to LA rather than share the new stadium in Santa Clara with the Niners)

Goodell is not a stupid man, No one has paid him enough money under the table for him to loosen those relocation rains.

I've heard from a guy I play golf with who works for the Rams that it's a done deal that they're coming back to L.A.

Wouldn't surprise me.
But we likely won't know until 2014 because Stan Kronke has to wait until then for stadium renovations to be up to a certain standard, and if they aren't, then they can leave.

Yeah I used to think the Jags were an obvious choice to move, but the new owner keeps insisting that he is keeping them in Jacksonville.
Imagine what would happen if the Raiders and Bolts both moved to LA. Would the NFL re-align divisions (specifically the AFC West) to prevent them from getting the extra home games each year?
Rams and Raiders look like the frontrunners to return. I would welcome that.

**** the Raiders. If two teams are moving here, bring the Rams and the Bolts.
The Chargers belong in San Diego, that is their home. The Raiders and Rams belong here, and I'd get some sick satisfaction out of the cities who took them from us having to go through losing them like we did.
With all the years that LA has been NFL-less, I really wouldn't be too picky which team moves here.
I'll bet Timmy and the new owner will be. Do you really want those same people who riot after laker championships down there more? As someone who will likely be going to those games(unless its the Raiders), I sure as hell don't. That doesn't even take into account the fact that i'll be working down there by then.

If we don't end up with the Raiders, I think the LA fan base of the Raiders will eventually die down as kids will grow up rooting for the local LA team. LA fans that choose to stay with the Raiders will be "Raidersnobs" just like the Eurosnobs in the American soccer fan base, who refuse to follow the MLS.

You must not know that the Chargers started out in LA.

God willing. The fewer Raiders fans this planet has, the better.

lol - really? Someone needs to do a little research.
yes the Bolts started in LA, but they belong in SD
the Raiders need to stay where they belong, Oakland
the Rams are the only one of the three that should return. they belong in LA. hell when they were in Anaheim, many fans complained about them being in OC. they are the team that belongs in LA. no one else
and no i am not a Rams fan. (Vikings and Bolts fan here)
