Debate...NHL/PA Style

An interesting concept in light of the Presidential debate would be to have Don Fehr and Gary Bettman square off in a a series of debates while the lock out drags on...and since the fans are the ones paying the salaries of all involved give the fans a true vote. Let the fans ask questions and base your own opinions off information from the horses mouth oppose to biased media spin.

NBC/TSN could air the program...the meeting could be held in large arenas across the league...tickets could be sold to watch it live...and all the proceeds could be given to arena employees and small businesses which are largely affected by the lockout. It provides ratings for NBC/TSN, provides money for people who don't deserve to be caught in the cross fire of the players and owners and gives the fans the answers that they desperately want to hear...straight from the executive leaders!

On one side I would love to see Crosby (Super Star), Scott Hartnell (Mid Level Star), Matthieu Darche (Lower Level Player) as well as Jeremy Jacobs (Big Market), Craig Leopold (Mid -Level Market), Henry & Susan Samueli (Low Level Market)

Get thru all the BS and get right to the facts for all to see!!!

If someone is going to make a petition why not make one for this? Maybe I am crazy or lost in the mood of tonights Pres. Debate???

I wish but it won't happen, they dont want to bring all the details to the media, might make one side look really bad.

Send a message via AIM to y2kcanucks
Plus they would probably argue who gets what % of the debate revenues, (between the employees and small businesses)

The basis of the PA's points are already pretty well known.

Fehr:
- massive concessions were made last go around. And now the owners want to revoke the perks and parameters they made to get the initial deal in place. It will always be a cycle of take take take.
- Lockout is a choice the owners have made.
- Record revenues almost every yr - there is enough money out there to solve the NHL's problems: revenue sharing increases.
- Players shouldn't have to take any reduction in the money they already make. They want no part of a rollback, and it makes no sense in doing so in light of the revenue growth.
