Mozyakin has had multiple opportunities to give the NHL a shot, he's just not been interested in leaving. He's in his 30s now, and even if he changed his mind, the ship has probably already sailed.

Geno, sneaks one by the Donbass 'tender. 1-0

Currently 3-2 Donbass. Good hockey game. Click on if you have the time.

Platanov just got tossed for shoving a linesman. lol

HAHA Tie game. Geno steals the puck. Nice pass to the point. Mozyakin snipes with 10secs left.

Mtg. took a penalty in OT. Fedotenko scores on pp. i think it was feds

Donbass wins it in OT. you wouldn't know it if you didn't see it though. Russian announcers show no emotion at all.

Yup, it was Feds. Not a great showing from Magnitka, I think they were sleep walking through most of it. You could see that shorty coming from a mile away.
Oh well, at least they got a point out of it.

Malkin in on all three goals ... 1g + 2a. That brings him even with Kovalchoo, but in one more game. No points for Kovy or Ovi today, but Sasha showed he cared with 2 helpers for Torpedo.

Denis Platonov, MMg's Captain was suspended for two games for pushing a linesman.
Here's the video ...

Nick Cotsonika piece about Malkin. It seems that Malkin is not giving interviews in English, at least for this piece Sarge acted as his interpreter. I wonder if it's because he's trying to be extra careful of what gets reported in the English language press.

Since MMg played in Moscow yesterday, there are a lot more articles floating around than usual. He was asked about the lockout, and about comments made by Ovi and Kovalchoo about staying in the KHL. His comments are pretty diplomatic about the lockout in general, and that in regards to staying in the KHL that it's still early in the talks and that it's stupid to be discussing staying in the KHL since he has a contract with Pittsburgh. Now, I will admit, that Russian is still new to me and I still have to look up some words, so if anyone is interested the SportBox article can be found here or the Championat version here.

Some tidbits i enjoyed:

The KHL business model is different than the NHL's. While the NHL and NHLPA fight primarily over the disposable incomes of North American fans, the KHL funds its operations primarily with sponsorship money – oil, gas, industry.

Tickets are cheap. To see Malkin play Friday night in Moscow, the most expensive seats were 1,200 rubles – less than 40 bucks. The least expensive tickets were 300 rubles – less than 10 bucks. There were maybe 4,500 fans in the seats.

Concessions are cheap. All they offered Friday night were coffee, tea, soda and water; chips, candy and meat-stuffed rolls. The most expensive item on the menu was 100 rubles – a little more than three bucks.

Football and hockey in Russia are parts of a social politics. Sport in the whole, I'd say, but those two are the most popular sports here, so they mean a lot.

Metallurg vs Dinamo, is that happening now and is there a stream anywhere?

EDIT: Now I'm reading that it's tomorrow? Can anyone provide me with the most legitimate website for stats, schedule, etc?

Hard to say, some very soft sniping winger with a very good playmaking. Great scater as well. I.e. typical Russian winger who has career PPG+ in the KHL. But he never did that well in NT, don't know why. Perhaps you gotta be more than just a sniper when you play along with the best... Semin perhaps would be the closest analogue, but not sure. Semin at least was always good for Russia.

But Mozyakin won't come to NA, no chances. Kulemin is a lot more interesting option. He's 3+2 in the last 5 games (and 3+1 in the last 3 games) playing with Malkin and Mozyakin. Exactly the player Neal and Geno need

He is one of the most skilful guys in KHL, good wrist shot, good vision, not physical type of player. The best comparison, in my opinion, is Dats.

Outch! You never compare a player to a deity. Mozyakin is a skilled winger but was always a bubble player for the NT even in his prime.
