1.I noticed nothing wrong with his tone. Obviously he was tired after the road game.
2.I bet all players that has to move to the NHL now Malkin, Dats and others are disappointed to some degree, though they don't show it. I would be surprised if it were other way. They set goals for themselves, for their teams, they hard worked, they were in it, they had passion about it. And now all their efforts are in vain. Every human has experienced this feeling to some extent. He just needs to switch himself. It won't take long

He did not say that. Some guy named Rossi twitted that, Russian press translated, and Malkin got pissed that they posted a translation of something he did not say.

I think he was citing that as another reason for the general tone of the interview. Would look bad to be happy and excited in your last interview in your home country playing for your home team.

Why wouldn't he be disappointed? These guys probably have a lot invested emotionally into their teams at this point; especially for players having a blast playing at home.

There's more to a player's life than just the Pittsburgh Penguins.

I'm not concerned about Malkin's comments. He is just saying the right things. He's not going to piss people off by acting happy to be leaving. He probably is a bit sad to leave, but like others said, it will go away quickly once he's back here.

Of course he didn't said that ... you can't talk the same way to different people ... to the russians: 'sorry but I have to leave' ... to the americans: 'I'm glad to be back' ...

Yeah, his SH goal against Barys (01:34) is my favourite. Goalie was embarassed, he was looking for the puck long after Malkin scored a goal .

Three things stand out:

1. So that's what a PP is supposed to look like . . .
2. Malkin on the PK does offer some advantages . . .
3. Got to think Paul Maurice is crying in his horse milk right now . . .

Usually these translations are always pretty bad and not very accurate. I wouldn't worry much about Geno

Well, as others have said, what's he going to say, 'happy to be leaving'? Kid has way too much class to ever do anything like that. And, I'm sure he has been having a **** load of fun, so I'm sure it is bittersweet. I'm not sure why anyone would expect otherwise.

Thanks! What a magician.

I think Geno takes the Art Ross again this year.

I can't believe Malkin fought over there. No harm done though...

Geno you are missed. Probably the thing I'm looking forward to seeing the most (Geno Skills) to help me forgot the BS of the last 4 months. Maybe next year I'll buy a jersey if we get new ones.

I have no worries about Malkin returning. He loves Pittsburgh.

Leave it to Rossi to misquote a player. He might be the only reporter alive capable of pissing Geno off (well Brooks could if he were here -- thank God he isn't). Anyway, more proof what a toolbag Rossi is and why no one should quote the guy. He's more interested in internet buzz than good reporting. POC

Malkin's already on his way to Pittsburgh, right? Because some of the Russians are thinking of staying...

Gonch to Geno on the PP. Geno to Gonch on the PP. I miss that.

And this is my first time paying attention to this, bc it hurt to much over the last four months. 65 points in 37 games?! Ridiculous. I also had no idea he was named the captain.

Let's just hope he, as well as all of the other supremely skilled Russians, didn't have to much fun and flee for Russia when their current contracts are up.

Hasn't left yet, but his agent said his flight is booked and that he should be arriving by the weekend.

He's just so much better than the other players on the ice in that video. It's just not fair.

I think it's sad that the NHL clubs refuse to let the Russian stars play in KHL All-star game this weekend, it would have been a nice gesture to the player and fans in Russia. And i understand some player may be disappointed But anyway good luck in NHL Geno and show them u still da man

(also happy u like my video )
