He might actually be playing, at least per this Sportsnet preview of the game from today. Kosmachuk isn't listed amongst their suspended players and instead they have this to say about him...

Quote:
Both teams will be fighting through adversity in the form of injuries and suspension. The Generals will be without forward Lucas Lessio (surgery) and Scott Laughton (suspension) while the Storm will forge ahead without forwards Hunter Garlent (broken ankle) and Patrick Watling (broken hand) and defenceman Andrey Pedan (suspension). "Every team goes through it and you can’t sit there and dwell on it," Smith said. "Players that would never have had a chance to play these minutes are getting chances so it will only make our team stronger later."

One player the Storm will look towards for an increased role is Winnipeg Jets prospect Scott Kosmachuk. "He understands how good he can be," Walker said. "When he plays with speed, he’s probably one of the fastest in the league and one of the best shots around. When he uses his abilities, he’s hard to beat and hard to stop."

Yeah Gump, I just did a pretty thorough search and I can't find a single thing on a Kosmo suspension. Are we sure he's actually out?

There's no mention on the Storm website, the OHL website, or anywhere.

I did the same search yesterday and found nothing. Perhaps whoever initially mentioned here that Kosmachuk was suspended maybe confused him with Pedan?

They promoted the game last night during the SD AZ football game , so I think it is sportsnet.

Yeah Friday night CHL hockey is a Sportsnet thing. And then they do an AHL game on the Saturday if I'm not mistaken.

Three different sources had tweeted about the suspension but it appears that it didn't go through. I haven't gotten any replies yet from my sources, but it appears Kosmo may be playing after all.

I think I found the source to the confusion. There was a storm player with 4 game suspension but appears not to be Kosmachuk:
Quote:
For those of you who didn't hear, Andrey Pedan got a four game suspension for his kicking incident last Sunday. He should consider himself lucky.
The two Sault Ste. Marie players who got game misconducts in that game, Colin Miller and Mark Petaccio, each got three games.
From HFBoards Guelph thread:
Quote:
I heard this. Makes the Beukeboom addition more valuable for these 4 games. I really thought Kosmachuk would have gotten a game or two for his slash at the end of the game.

Really nice setup on the PP. He's been pretty good up against Jenner's line as well.

Ok I am a bit choked right now.......I assumed Kosmo was out so I didn't PVR the game! I just tune in to late in the 3rd to find out Guelph have gone on a run late and the highlight clip shows Kosmo pumping his fists and the announcer says "thanks to Kosmo the Guelph storm are up"

Way to go Kosmo!!

Another near goal at the end of the third for Kosmo. He's been pretty good tonight being matched up against Jenner's line.

He's had some decent chances, you can tell this kid has hands. Nothing bad stuck out to me, all in all quite a positive night for him.

It's too bad there's no package I can find to watch more CHL games on TV. I was hoping those rumours of a Junior team coming to Winnipeg were true. Maybe if I move out to Brandon for the job I'm studying for I'll be in a better position to watch some CHL games live.

No probably, he WILL miss tomorrow's game. Game disqualification is an automatic game suspension (and if he gets another game DQ this season, it'll be a two-game suspension, etc...).

One of the hardest hits I've ever seen in person. I don't know if it would have been a game DQ in the old days, but with the emphasis on contact to the head these days, I understand why they did it. Trouba absolutely killed Reed Seckel on that hit. I thought he KO'ed him and they were going to have to bring out an ambulance...no exaggeration. I was surprised when Seckel was finally helped to his feet (several minutes later) and off the ice (though he didn't return). But basically NMU passed the puck up to center ice where Seckel turned his head back to look for the puck and Trouba came in from his blindside and destroyed him shoulder-to-head before he played the puck. Even if he had played the puck, they probably still call a similar penalty just for how hard of a hit was and the fact he was blindsided.

Like I said, in the old days they'd probably say that's what happens when you put your head down. These days, the responsibility is on the hitter.

I would really love to see a Swift Current game on Sportsnet.

Realizing that Scheifele and Trouba are our top prospects, last year I was most excited to watch Telegin develop.

Besides our top two guys, I think Lowry is the guy I'm most interested in following right now. Size, toughness, and some scoring talent? What's not to like?

I don't know how good the Bronco's are, but any chance that if they were eliminated that Lowry could get a look on the Ice Caps at the end of the year? Of course the only way there would be room on the IC is if the NHL is playing. But would anyone think he is in any way close to that yet?

Where do you all see him when he cracks our lineup?
