Must have, yeah. And, he just got another assist, to make it 5A for the night. He's playing with Ritchie, yes? That dude can really put them in the back of the net.

EDIT: top 10 scoring - Scheifele's PPG is creeping up there...

Huge night for Scheif and Kosmo. I think this might have been what Hawerchuk meant by dominating night in night out. Mark's progression from last year is significant.

Both Scheifele and Kosmachuk were named the first star in their games tonight.

You can't help but love what we are seeing from Scheif so far this year. Kosmo is also moving up on people's radar. With each passing week the Jets prospect cupboard seems a little more full

Yes it is King

Not just saying it because he's on a roll but it's really surprising Kosmo was around in the 3rd round? Not like he came out of left field he was 2nd in goal scoring last year for 18 year olds in the OHL behind only Nail. It is looking more and more like he could be an excellant value pick. Nice to have a prospect who is a goal scorer.

In a way. These guys are super super young, and a long way from the NHL (other than Scheifele obviously). They have a long way to go before they hit NHL ice (I'm talking guys like Kosmachuk, Lowry, Yuen, etc). It's easy to look promising in junior. Every team really has guys like this throughout the organization, many of whom amount to nothing at all. Also, keep in mind for all the progress a guy like Kosmachuk is making, you are seeing Sutter look horrible and struggling to contribute at even the WHL level (-15, 3g, 5pts in 24gp is beyond bad at WHL level for a 2nd round pick, no matter how you look at it).

Not trying to debbie downer (well maybe a little) but it's important not to count your chickens before the hatch. It is encouraging, but with prospects it is very important to keep your expectations in check, many many more will disappoint you than not.

Really good game by Scheifele. It's too bad that he can't seem to catch Strome in the scoring race.

Yeah you are being a bit of a Debbie Downer, but I do see your point. However, since we are a bottom 1/3 team in the middle of a lockout I will take my solace where I can get it.

BTW I'm 10-4-2 at the MTS Centre

Moms!

I always wish we had drafted Matt Finn. I think he's hilarious in any interview I've seen him in.

Fair enough

Yeah, I had by far the worst record of anybody in my ST group, hell most of the season I managed to be below .500 despite the Jets amazing home record . Guess I'm a curse

In the first 15 games the Jets played:
they did not win a single game I watched
they did not lose a single game I missed

I'm worse...

Yes I agree although you are being a bit of a BK (lol) its hard to ignore the odds. With Trouba and Scheif it's a matter of "when not if" with the rest of the boys it's "if". That being said I really enjoy watching the progress especially with very little else happening in the hockey world.

With Yuen, Lowry, Kosmo, and Sutter I can imagine a path to the NHL for each of them but one needs to be realistic. They're all high character players but I doubt any of them will be on the fast track. This is where the develop part of of draft and develop plan comes into play.

As to Sutter's brutal start to the season thank god for him it's a long season and they host the memorial cup so he has a chance to get things right tracked. For my money if you flipped our 2nd and 3rd round picks from the last draft it makes more sense to me at least Trouba , Kosmo, then Sutter.

The one thing I will say though is if you look at disiplinded organizations like Nashville who develop properly it is shocking how many non first round picks populate their roster (9 last season from within their organization by my count last season) Hopefully we are that fortunate.

Michigan lost to Cornell last night 5-1 and Trouba had an assist on His teams lone goal and he ended up -1 on the night which is probably not too bad considering the pounding his team took. U of M is now 5-7-1 for the season and need to get the ship going in the right direction soon.
