I enjoy the occasional Bacon McGriddle with the round egg substituted in for the folded egg. Good times.

Well, my TMJ has finally got to the point where I think I may have to seek medical attention. It's almost completely prohibiting me from eating at this point, as I take a few bites, and the pain is too much in my jaw. I don't have any dental insurance, so we'll see how this goes. Might have to wait it out for 8 weeks or so until I'm eligible for the company dental insurance.

Ate at Pamela's today. Sorely disappointed. The pancakes were mushy. Everything was covered in butter. The bacon was of Eat n Park quality.

That is a shame. That was my go-to in college.

I used to take girls there after a night of debauchery. If a food could be a panty dropper, those chocolate chip banana pancakes were.

I'm sure those speciality items are still delicious. But what I ate was not great (bacon, eggs, regular pancakes)

I never really went there to get the normal breakfast stuff. I can get bacon and eggs anywhere, and honestly, I think Pamela's is expensive. If I was going there, I was getting something worth the money.

pamela's is vastly overrated. Best breakfast in town is The Dor-Stop.

I don't like eggs either. Just sausage and cheese on the McMuffin is all I need.

Good point. I thought about that too, but since I'd never had their regular pancakes (without all the fixins , it's cause I don't go there often), I wanted to try them so I said f it and got the Morning After breakfast. Not a single **** was given ,....until I realized the Eat n Park plastic bacon.

John Tchicai has passed away. i know i might be the only voice for avant-garde jazz on the pens board but he was truly a great artist and his death is a real tragedy. born in Copenhagen he was most famous for playing with legends Archie Shepp and Don Cherry in NYC in the 1960s. he was on the New York Eye and Ear Control LP which was a real landmark for the "new thing" and played on John Coltrane's Ascension. for decades he was really committed to promoting and advancing the cause of free jazz in northern Europe.

it's tough year-after-year hearing about the deaths of these jazz legends. some real heroes of mine have passed away these last few years: Fred Anderson (the Chicago inside-outside master and owner of the Velvet Lounge), Bill Dixon (a downright cerebral trumpeter and important educator) and now John Tchicai.

The Dor-Stop is literally 5 minutes from my house, yet I've never been there . But yeah, I've heard great things and I swear it's always packed when I pass by it.
