Agreed.

It looks like with Prohorkin - Loktionov - Kozun and Pearson - Vey - Toffoli Manchester has found a very very good top 6 for their team. When healthy you might have King - Cliche/Weal/Andreoff - Nolan line (or maybe switching Nolan and Kozun) as well, damn that is an amazingly solid top 9.

Yeah, I'd like to see...

1a. Prokhorkin - Loktionov - Nolan
1b. Pearson - Vey - Toffoli
1c. King - Weal - Kozun
4. Andreoff - Cliche - Legein
ex: Clune, Meckler, Czarnik, O'Neill. Czarnik deserves to play, but when healthy there's just too much depth

Where's the buddy that said Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli were both the wrong picks for our organization? Those 2 guys are going to be studs for us eventually! GO MONARCHS

There were only a select few degrading Toffoli and Pearson here. I think most of us realize that they are, in fact, very good prospects who are going to need some time to round out their respective games in the AHL. Neither is expected to be a superstar on the Kings.
You want them to scored two points a game????? round out their game????

The Kings require players to be able to play 200 feet of the ice effectively. Pearson and Toffoli are going to need some work in that department. They're also not going to be scoring multiple points every single game so they're going to need to do other things well, too. There's nothing wrong with them developing their games in Manchester for a couple seasons.

exactly, we have the depth and time to wait and develop them right instead of rushing them. Take advantage of it and be thankful we have this depth.

I don't see them there for a couple of seasons. There's not a whole lot of players who spend more than one season in AHL that become impact players at the NHL level. I am thinking that in 13-14 we are looking at...

Brown - Kopitar - Williams
Pearson/Toffoli - Richards - Carter
King - Stoll/Loktionov - UFA/Toffoli/Prokhorkin/Nolan/Vey/Andreoff
Clifford - Lewis - Nolan/Prokhorkin/Andreoff/UFA

Something like that. There will be spots available that year, I don't think Gagne, Penner, Richardson and maybe Fraser(I know he's under contract through 13-14) are going to be with LA past 12-13.

Pearson got 3 points this game Toffoli has a point in every game both play all 200 feet of the ICE. You should wait to watch them play more than 4 games. they both killed penatly last year they were both a plus player last year. You say they need to play the 200 feet without knowing anything about them. as the season goes on they will start to kill penatlies also.

I really doubt Toffoli kills penalties with Cliche, Legein, Loktionov, etc on the team with his foot speed. It's not a slight on him, just not his role, it's VASTLY different from Junior where there is no depth on teams. But really that doesn't matter. Killing penalties /= defensive awareness. I have not watched enough of either one to say whether or not they are good defensively, but there is little doubt that there ARE holes in these guys games, if there wasn't they would have been top 5 picks...

Do you really think I know nothing about them? You think these four games are the first time I've ever seen them step on the ice? I don't even get what you're going after me for. I was defending them against people who were saying they were bad picks. I can guarantee you they wouldn't be with the Kings even if there was an NHL season right now, and that's because they need to develop other aspects of their games.

Ouch.

Was also surprised to hear that Danny Taylor has been a rock for Abbotsford.

Do you know what "rounding out their game" even means? It doesn't mean score 2 points a game.

I remember the outcry when the Kings didn't sign Cameron.

Too bad about Taylor, but he just didn't have a good long term career at the time.

Cameron sucked. I never understood the love for him.

Probably because of his 53 goal season in his overage year with the Colts. Same reason some people had an infatuation with Justin Papineau. Big time scorer in juniors and minors that never translated to the pros. It's the Corey Locke syndrome.

Was it Andrew that wrote the article last year calling Hickey a bust and then Cameron a legit prospect? Cause yeah, hindisght being what it is, that looks like even a worse claim now than it did then.

I see Pearson has 3 points in 3 games. How's he been looking out there?

I'm a Colts fan and a huge fan of Pearson, so I'm genuinely curious as to how you guys like him.

He's been pretty good. The first weekend he was relatively quiet, which is expected from a guy making the jump from the CHL to the AHL.

This weekend, though (even Friday), Pearson looked much better. He seemed more confident on the puck and I like how he's not afraid to go to the net. He looked great on a line with Vey and Toffoli. I hope they keep those three together for the near future.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but as of last weekend I believe just the top six looked like this:

Prokhorkin - Loktionov - Kozun

Pearson - Vey - Toffoli

I'm sure with King coming and Nolan returning from injury in a week or two, that will complicate things a little bit.

Based on their previous game:

Prokhorkin-Loktionov-Kozun
Pearson-Vey-Toffoli
Andreoff-Weal-Legein
Clune-Cliche-O'Neill

Bodnarchuk-Voynov
Muzzin-Campbell
Deslauriers-Kolomatis

Jones-Mannino

I disagree. I think he could benefit from playing on the checking-line, as he's not a one-dimensional player anyway. He had by far his best game of the year on Saturday and was tenacious on the puck. He has a loooooong ways to go, but unless he becomes a familiar face in the press-box, I don't see a reason to send him down.
