I thought Nilsson was supposed to be pretty good? Is Wikstrand carrying Nilsson's play in Mora's own end?

He'll need to start putting up some apples if he's gonna surpass OEL's record, I think.

Yeah, that's pretty strange. Because Nilsson were way ahead of Wikstrand last season. But this season, Nilsson has not been that decent. Afterall, he's probably the 2nd best D on the team. But Wikstrand pulls way ahead of Nilsson so far into this season(And all other Mora D's).

They have a very different playstyle, though.

They play 52 games(excluding potential playoffs). So far 11 has been played.

Matt Peumple is carrying the team it seems. He has 6 goals and 2 assists. The team has scored 14 goals in total. Faksa has 4, 4 other guys have 1.

For a team with a lot of talent, the Rangers need help.
The Ranger lost last night because of 1 ref. Called incidentals on the Rangers and let obvious calls slide. I was so mad at the end I was banging on the glass telling the ref he was doing a bad job. (I am one of those quiet people you see at games) One guy delivered a DDT on another player and the ref did nothing.

Murphy did not come off as position-ally sound D. Ever time he had the puck he tried to dangle the Frontes. He lost it more than once.

Al Iafrates kid dropped a big hip check right in front of me. It was sweet.

Puempel's goal was a wrist shot from the top of the circle, just like Turris in the playoffs. I was surprised how strong of a shot he has. The goalie didn't have a chance. He had a few other chances throughout the game. He almost had a backhander in the first 2 minutes of the game. He might need to settle down a little when playing. He missed an open net which would have tied the game.

I am excited to see what he can do going forward.

Next week I am going to watch the Whalers and try to get Noesson's autograph for my son.

They've played 11 out of 52 games, so he's on pace for almost 30 goals.

Shooting at 23% though, which obviously isn't suistanable.

What's more important is that Wikstrand is the number one defenseman on the team with the best possession stats in the league. Unfortunately, there's no way of determining exactly what his various advanced stats are, but his transition game has been great and it'd seem his pairing rarely spend any time in the defensive zone. And hey, let's give Anze Kopitar some credit for Mora's numbers as well.

Kopitar does a great job drawing the attention of defenders, which freezes everyone and opens up plenty of opportunities for Mora to exploit gaps in coverage.

We sure love to draft/acquire Swedish players who have SEL records (Alfie, Rundblad, Silfverberg and soon Wikstrand?)

Damn, didnt people say Boyle was surprisingly good at the rookie camp? How an NHL fourth rounder cant crack a college team lineup is odd to me.

Is SEL-2 streamed anywhere? I wanna see some of our golden boy Wikstrand play. Also what's with the recent "Vikstrand" spelling? I know that's how its pronounced, but is it officially Vikstrand or something now?

I remember something from the draft that his name is actually Vikstrand, but he also goes by Wikstrand since it's the English way of pronouncing it...iirc

I guess you could try with viaplay.se which is the broadcaster of four or five SEL games a week. You will get Mora once in a while but not every one of their games. It works perfectly but don't know what their policy is on foreign users. Works fine when I'm in other European countries but then again, registered in Sweden.

yep, his 'official' passport name is vickstrand.

his hockey and preferred name is wickstrand.

the NHL has certain policies regarding player names on jerseys, one of which being that it has to match your official government name. My guess is that he would have to legally change it to wickstrand in order to get that on the back of his NHL jersey. (see craig andersson of the chicago blackhawks, andy was forced by the league to change it to anderson)
