If Lehner keeps it up, do we trade Bishop or Anderson?

Having a veteran-rookie duo is probably more ideal.

21 goals in 25 games, who care if he only has 7 assists Puempel is on fire right now. Could be a future LW trigger man for Spezza Also Noesen 20th in the OHL in goal department with 14 despite missing a few games.

You are looking at two of the top goalies in the CHL this year.. so I meant what I said. It wouldn't be the first time the national junior team selected a goalie right after their draft year. Mark Visentin is the most recent I can think of to make it right after his draft year. I'm not saying its guaranteed, but there is a good chance at least one of our two prospects makes the team.

Not really a good chance at all. Subban will be there for sure, and he was just drafted. They will take a 19 year old, Binnington more than likely, along with Subban.

They're not even the best in their respective leagues. Brassard has a great team - I can almost guarantee you that there are other Q goaltenders who would have very good stats playing for the powerhouse remparts. I'm not saying they aren't solid prospects I'm just saying that they're not in the Top goalies category yet.

Brossoit is too bro to be left off the team.

This is a key factor when considering kids for the WJC team. The broier, the brotter.

I think Subban and Binnington have the two spots locked up. Both have been two of the best goalies this year (again) so don't see how they get beat out unless one or both of them totally fall apart at camp and seem to have confidence issues or something. Patersson is also making a case. Will be interesting to see who gets invited, as they will likely announce the camp invitees this week.

Zibanejad and Wikstrand are likely for Sweden. Noesen likely for the US.

Puempel and Ceci have a chance, but will have to perform well at camp for what is shaping up to be a pretty stacked team given the lock-out. Murray being hurt helps Ceci, and Puempel having his coach be the Team Canada coach is really what gives him a decent shot. But both are in tough.

If one of Brassard or Driedger get invited to camp, that would be great for their development. Making the team a real long shot though for either given the list of goalies invited to the summer camp and how they are performing.

11 goals in his last 9 in front of Spott could make it pretty interesting. That said, I doubt Puempel gets the benefit of the doubt like others could if he has a lackluster camp.

I don't see why he would have a lackluster camp, though. Maybe not good enough, but I see no reason why he'd play below his level.

I have a really hard time seeing Ceci not make team Canada. He was one of the last cuts last year. Who besides D. Hamilton and M. Rielly are ahead of him on Canada's depth chart? Serious question. I must be forgetting some really significant players.

edit: and I am taking into consideration Dumba, Murphy and Reinhart fwiw.

It's just a completely different environment, it doesn't matter whether you're a lock or one of the non-elite 17 year olds invited, anyone can have a lackluster camp. If you're a bubble player, which Puempel is, you've gotta standout. If Puempel comes out of 3 red/white games with a goal and an assist, there's a good chance he'll miss the team. They need to see him very active in the goal scoring department.

That said, I think he's one of those guys that may not be on most people's roster guesses at this point but if he makes the team he may end up proving to be a guy meant to play with RNH. I don't know if anyone's built to fill the net quite like Puempel is at the junior level. In plain sight in Kitch right now too.

Harrington.

According to HF, Ouellet is pretty much a lock.

Harrington. That's a name I certainly forgot. Are there legitmate reasons for the love affair of Ouellet or is it just a Red Wings circle jerk? I'd guess Rielly, and one of Murphy or Dumba will make, thus making a player like Ouellet pretty redundant. Ceci could easily play a shutdown role and brings more in terms of offense than XO.

I believe Hockey Canada is very high on Ouellet. Mckenzie also has said he is a fixture since the Can-Rus summer series
