He's a good long-term prospect. I'd say he's prepared to play in SEL or AHL next season, and could be NHL-ready after ~2 years in that kind of league IF he continues his development.

He'll play in the SEL next year for sure (if OTT doesn't want him to come over). Started the season very well.

brass up to 6-0-0, 2so, 1.66gaa, 0.932sv%.

and an assist.

I know he's on a stacked team, but still, good to see him starting off strong.

Yep, today's Aftonbladet claims Roger Rönnberg will be heading to Frölunda next season and wants to bring Vikstrand there.

Would be a very good move, both for us and Vikstrand, if he went to Frolunda. Great Org. and our team has a good history with them.

Sounds reasonable, too. Rönnberg is going to coach Frölunda for next year and the WJC team this year, so it only makes sense he does some recruiting from the WJC squad this early.

It would certainly help Wikstrand with reasonable expectations if he'd put up any kind of numbers.

Wikstrand looks like he'll make a case for Sweden's top-4 at the WJC.

Could be a good move if Rönnberg moves there, even though good Mora players often end up in Brynäs when moving to SEL.

What are we doing for D next year?

Cowen/Karlsson
Methot/????
Philips/????

Blood, Gryba, Weicioch, Ceci, Claesson, Borowiecki, Wideman.

I think we need a top 4. I don't think Ceci is ready for that role. Not confident in the others.

If you look at the left side, they may very well contributed in the opposite order as you placed them. We will sign one guy and insert one prospect. Maybe 2. We'll roll Karlsson 27 mins, Phillips/Cowen 44 between the two of them, Methot 18-21, Borowiecki 16-18, and then we have one other guy making up the last 13-17 mins or so. And that's assuming that at best, we sign a bottom of the barrel guy/ease a prospect in verrry slowly.

Lundin is on a one year contract, if he remains healthy, he should take a spot next year as well.

My concern is the amount of LH D we have.

RD
Karlsson
Ceci
Wideman
Gryba
Fransoo
Boyle

LD
Phillips
Cowen
Methot
Lundin
Weircioch
Borowiecki
Claesson
Sdao
Wikstrand

We have 1 RD that is NHL calibre.

If you don't think Ceci is very close to NHL calibre, I don't think you've seen him consistently enough Q.

More often than not, Cody Ceci is a top 5 defenceman in the OHL.

Sorry that came out wrong.

We have one RD with NHL experience.

If we're talking about just next yr then you have to mention benoit who, right now, might be better all round than everyone outside of ottawa and is an option if a replacement is needed.
He was good in the games he played for ottawa a couple yrs ago and management obviously really likes him.
