I am glad to see Palat and Gudas though. No love for Kindl?
This coach is stupid. How do you pick those guys over Vrbata, Sobotka, Hudler, Kindl and Hejda? WTF is going on in the Czech Republic?

I agree with this. Current form is huge, especially when playing tournament with couple games. They could have picked better team. Damn!

Brutal decisions like these are gonna hurt us (a much lesser hockey country) waaay more than for example you guys, no Bobby Ryan? Not a big deal, you still have Kane, Pacioretty, JVR, Parise etc on the depth chart. You leave out Hejda and we're left with a bunch of #4 dmen, you leave out Hudler and Vrbata, that's half our scoring gone.

He thinks those 2 Ds are good as a pair( ). Nedved is good presence in the locker room, thats possibly true. And Kaberle... Im still not sure what is the reasoning behind this

The Czech '98 roster looked pretty brutal too, with the majority of picks coming from the Extraliga. But that team had Hasek.

Nobody expected much from Finland at WJC. It's not about names, it's all about chemistry. Picking NHL players only would be a huge mistake. Do you realize that NHL players will all arrive to Sochi one day before tournament start and will have 1 training session on the big ice. Europe players will have an advantage.

I thought Polak would have for sure made this team. Oh well. Glad Sobotka is in there. Kid deserves all the praise he gets.

Most of the players from top-teams are from NHL, It doesn't really give advantage to anyone. At least for top-teams.

I am willing to believe Nedved is not the worst choice either...but Kaberle has no business being there IMO.

Kindl doesn't like Hadamczik either so that might explain that. Vrbata wasn't very good in last years wc.

Is Polak injured or what?

They also had the, at the time, undisputed best forward in the world in Jagr and a decent blueline with names like Hamrlik (> Smid), Svoboda (> Michalek), Smehlik (> Roszival), Kucera (= Zidlicky) and Slegr (> Krajicek/Barinka/Kaberle) there. This team is a joke in comparison, even before Hasek.

They had Hejduk, Jagr, Lang, Reichel, Straka, and Hamrlik. All of whom were in their primes for the most part.

Glad to see Hemsky make it, I wonder if he'll play with Krejci, they have some nice chemistry.

Also a big problem I see is a possibility of Cervenka on the line with Plek and Jagr. Im very sceptical about this...

Okay, I already dealt with Nedved on the team. Kaberle could be useful at PP at least.
But God, how i hate Barinka and Krajicek on the team. Sooo many better options there.. Hejda, Kindl, Polak, Sevc, Nemec, Novak.. even Caslava. Oh, how I did not want him there... now I would welcome him with opened arms.

Sobotka is there, Vrbata and Hudler are not there, due to disrespect to the national team. Kindl, wasnt he a healthy scratch recently?
Hejda...yes that is the total mistake in nomination
