I think there will be 2 last games for him - today's one and the KHL All Stars. I mean, they shouldn't let down all the russians fans waiting for them. And it's All Stars anyway - no risk.

It will be interesting to see how that's handled by the Blues. I wouldn't be surprised either way on his playing status today, but I doubt he'll be playing in the All-Star game on the 13th with the NHL season starting a week or so after that.

He'll certainly be playing today, because there is no reason why he shouldn't be.

I'd say the chances of him playing in the KHL All-Star game is basically nil though. The Blues will want players reporting in St. Louis as soon as possible, and the way Tarasenko speaks and has acted in the past, I think he'd want to be there asap as well.

since I'm one of the guys who needs some times to forgive those suckers the coolest part of this lockout-ending for me is that Vlad will be on NHL 13 soon...anyone know when that will be?

Is there any doubt that Tank will be an impact player from day 1?

First roster update after the season starts. They have to play one game in the NHL or something

He's been on mine since I got it...Though EA won't rate him an 80 like I did.

He earned the right to play in that game, and the fans purchased tickets expecting the NHL Russians to be there. It would be nice to have him for training camp, but it wouldn't be fair. Hopefully he's here for the first game.

I know, I bought that game thinking tarasenko was already on it, or at least available thru an update, I'll be pissed if he isn't available soon

31 points in 31 games with 14 min TOI... pretty damn impressive. Hopefully Hitch let's him do his thing as long as he's defensively responsible which it seems he's proven in the KHL this year. You guys have some great young players coming up.

I think for most Blues fans who have watched a lot of Tarasenko, the biggest thing is just how much he looks like the ideal Hitchcock player. He is physical, direct and, most importantly, responsible. Not a great defensive player, but puts in the effort in the defensive end.

Tarasenko will almost certainly be playing for SKA tomorrow, and it is 50/50 whether he will be travelling to Ufa for their game on Thursday.

This makes no sense to me. Do you have a source?

The lockedout SKA forwards Ilya Kovalchuk and Vladimir Tarasenko plus goalie Sergei Bobrovsky still remain with the St. Petersburg team. They have arrived with the team in Kazan for tomorrows KHL regular season match against AK Bars. When the star players will return to the NHL is currently unknown, despite the lockout nearing an end. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has already confirmed that he will return to North America in the near future. Alexei Dementyev, the agent of Tarasenko, has stated on Twitter that his client will be travelling to St. Louis this week. As for Kovalchuk, his plans to return to New Jersey are currently unknown.
It does actually make some sense considering that SKA have valid contracts with the players until the new CBA is ratified, which won't be until late Thursday or Friday. It won't be ratified before the SKA game in Ufa on Thursday. However, I suspect they will play tomorrow and then be released to make their way to North America. The lockout details were still basically unknown to them when they played on Sunday, so tomorrow can be their farewell match to SKA.

Will the Blues retire Tarasenko's number before or after he arrives?

They will probably have the banners ready home opener contingent on him scoring 10 goals in the first period.
