It's that time of year where the HF top-20 is winding up, we await the unveiling of the Hockey's Future rankings to bash and other sites start coming out with their own lists. So Dan and I thought, why not have one more?
And that's what we did.
Instead of just doing ten like last year, the number of guys are doubled. One, the prospect pool is good enough where twenty seemed reasonable and two, we're up for it.
Our plan is to count down from 20 to 1 and update this post/thread as it goes. We hope that we can explain ourselves, have a compelling argument and at worst be told how ****ing wrong and idiotic this idea is because that's how the internet works.
Fringe Stuff: Introduction Honorable Mentions (in no order): John Draeger, Colton Jobke, Adam Gilmour, Christoph Bertschy, Lou Nanne, Stephen Michalek, Sean Lorenz, Kyle Medvec, Justin Fontaine and Joel Broda.

Only because Lucia was LATE 2nd instead of early 3rd... but it's close enough. The only reason Hackett is that low on the list is because he was a 3rd rounder... that's also the only reason Phillips is so high and Larsson being so low.
Either way, it's pretty clear they put in no thought about development since each player was drafted and where they project to be when considering that development.

I think the Wild might be as good or better 11 through 20 now than they were 1-10 then.
I am still holding out that Graovac is the classic late bloomer. I thought he looked really good at the Sunday scrimmage during the prospect camp. Curious that he can't crack top 6 on his junior team. I think his ability is higher than 20, but the ranking is probably spot on based on his history.
