looked about 22kish actual. nothing wrong with calling it a sellout though. about as packed as the dc game in june. next week should be another good crowd and the game is on NBC (not NBCsports...NBC!!)

Didn't see as much of the Tottenham match as I would have liked, but was quite delighted with the result. Just disappointed that the first match he has had with the club that I'm not wearing his jersey and Dempsey finally scores his first goal (that wasn't called back erroneously of course).

Yup. Legitimately moved all tickets, and not with cheap giveaways either. I was surprised to hear as much but I kept asking my bosses or other people that would know and they all kept saying this one was legitimately sold out. Didn't take the time to look out at the crowd, but it had some good volume to it and I would assume 20-22k showing up is definitely reasonable.

And Henry is just so ridiculous. Seeing him play in person for the last 2 years has just been wonderful. He's playing real life on easy mode sometimes.

Forget the numbers for a second because they obviously don't tell the story. The first half was pretty much dominated by Tottenham, no clue why United didn't start two strikers -- Rooney was key. Beyond that, first 10-15 minutes of second half were probably 40-60 in favor of United, the rest of the match Spurs parked it.

Not dominance at all. Spurs bossed the first half, United owned the second. Credit to AVB as he said pre-match that they would come out attacking.

Edit: Weird thing is that BBC has different possession stats then Sky/ESPN, etc - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19684181

SEVENTY FOUR PERCENT

that's practically unheard of

nvm the DOUBLE shots on goal

The game was a whole lot of United attacking and a whole **** tonne of tottenham doing nothing. Goals on some of the poorest defending I've ever seen and nothing else. Sure united should've started two strikers but they changed their tactics entirely and held the ball for the duration of the second half. it was a ****ing walk about for the most part

This is like NJ losing to NYR when they outshot them 2x and carried the play but NYR happened to score a couple in a flurry. nothing more.

Even great teams lose games they shouldnt.

They are great because this doesnt happen often to them.

This is why Newcastle isnt great. They are amazing because they managed not to lose two games they shouldnt have drawn!

I needed the silver lining

Like I said: forget the stats. Undeniable that Spurs controlled the first half. Its biased to say the match was a "lot of United attacking and a ton of Tottenham doing nothing" because that isn't true. Last 30-35 minutes? Yes, absolutely correct. First 60? Nope.

Did Spurs deserve all three? Probably not. Have they been absolutely shafted out of points in the past against United? Yep. Such is football. Spurs should be in the UCL instead of Chelsea if everything were equal.

Still not convinced that Friedel wouldn't have had fingertips on that Rooney FK if it were within the sticks.

Regardless, lets drop the pissing and admit this was wonderful football before the last 30 minutes. Can't expect a lesser side to not park it at OT when a goal up.

Next match in FM after i loaded up? @ United. Even e-Sir Alex Ferg is smart enough to start two strikers (and RVP on the left?)
