I know Tottenham won, but lets be honest. They sat back in their defensive 3rd the entire 2nd half. The possession and shot stats were heavily on Manchester's side. While Tottenham played well in 1st half, they look absolutely terrible in the 2nd, which is still impressive that they hanged on for the win
To basically overview, I never said Spurs dont deserve the 3 points, however all I said was that United dominated, which they did. Spurs played better than Manchester United in the 1st half, but it was no where near what Manchester United did to them in the 2nd half . I would also agree that many teams get shafted of points, its football. In the end all that matters is the points, however atleast they showed up and looked like they deserved to be in the game
Also, we need a centerback badly. I know we cant do anything about it right now, but Rio just looked lost out there. The 2nd goal, he got burned by Bale, and on the 3rd goal, he went to the RB position, and left Evans all by himself in the Center

Next match in FM after i loaded up? @ United. Even e-Sir Alex Ferg is smart enough to start two strikers (and RVP on the left?)
Playing two strikers is fine but at this point in the modern game, a traditional flat 4-4-2 isn't going to cut it for a team expected to win nearly every week. Especially if your two CMs are slow (Scholes and Carrick). The modern English game is so reliant on physical ability, particularly in the midfield, that our very talented but very slow central playmakers get eaten alive when teams have space or when they can counter off of midfield turnovers.
Given the relative weakness of our backline, with Rio either playing injured or feeling the lasting effects of too many leg injuries, and the shaky Evans filing in for Vidic, I think we need to take a more conservative approach.
This is how I would line up against lower table teams...
Not having Park anymore hurts in the big games when we need someone who can run all game... Fletcher, hopefully, can fill the midfield engine role he used to before his medical issues occurred.
The game was a whole lot of United attacking and a whole **** tonne of tottenham doing nothing. Goals on some of the poorest defending I've ever seen and nothing else. Sure united should've started two strikers but they changed their tactics entirely and held the ball for the duration of the second half. it was a ****ing walk about for the most part
This is like NJ losing to NYR when they outshot them 2x and carried the play but NYR happened to score a couple in a flurry. nothing more.
Unfortunately football is a game where teams can and do score and win against the run of play. We all know this is common, have seen it happen before, and will surely see it again in the future. Tottenham's win was unconvincing, but it was still a win, and touting the possession numbers doesn't do anything but make you guys look bitter.

What you said is basically what I said. Football is random and teams who dominate play for large periods of the game can lose. The possession numbers are REINFORCEMENT of that realization not evidence to the contrary. Not sure how accepting that is bitterness.

Now kneeeeeel before my fish
Because right after a loss, you're bringing up possession numbers to mitigate the blow. Those stats would never be brought up after a win.

Its really boiling down to semantics. To say United completely dominated Spurs just isn't correct. If the entire match (or at least more than half) looked like the last 35 minutes, yes, that's dominance. Less than a half? No. Did they have the better run of play overall? Yes.
Didn't realize there were so many United fans on here. I don't really dislike them at all, despite the Yankees label that gets put on them all the time. Of the higher table clubs:
Any mid/bottom table club > United > Arsenal > Liverpool > City > Chelsea
And that is coming from a Spurs fan. I'm actually a fan of how Arsenal is run.
