Depends how injuries of Sersen and Višnovský will progress.

Possibly Marcinko got the advandate over Bliznak because of his size, don't know what other reason there would be. An OK roster IMO

As for Satan and ability to calm a play - in current circumstances he would be calmed down and "prongerized" by someone sooner or later.

I would say it depends mostly on other 7 guys. Visnovsky is now injured with concussion. Meszaros is healthy scratch often.

Over Juraj Mikúš or rather Šťastný, then. Bližnák is not good after his injury this season.

Definitely the weakest roster from BIG7 down the middle.

Yeah, but with Gustavson out he's been getting regular ice time for quite a while now, so i think he will be in good shape coming into Sochi.

Good to hear, could be big for Marincin's development getting to play with some of those guys. Will be fun to watch.

Would've liked to have seen Bliznak there but no real complaints for me.

Now it's a case of getting some of the players who have struggled for the NT over recent years (Marcel Hossa) actually firing in the National Team.. Although, if he is on the first line this year as he was for so often in Vancouver then I will be pretty pissed.

Top goalies but not the best offense IMO. Good luck Slovaks.

Yeah roster as a whole is good, I just have said that when your best natural center is Handzus, you´re gonna have a bad time.

Congratulations Zdeno!! So proud to call him my Captain.

Love your team btw. Marian Hossa and Tomas Kopecky especially.

I dont think it is really big issue for these players to switch positions in forward. I think strict position distinguishing is relic.
And as I said, with the coach you have (and expectig big team spirit), for me it would be no big surprise if SK is in the semis...

I believe center is the most important position. All great teams had great centers. Second best option is great defenceman, then goalie and in the end it´s a wing.
Look at Penguins, Hawks, Canada or so. Russians rely mostly on wings and they are unable to win.

Omfg Marcel Hossa? Has he ever played good game in national team? I know that he has not played whole season, but I wanted to see Satan instead of him. Also I dont like Surovy.

It´s definitely a time for Hossa jr. to show what he is capable of. He is better - yes even in NT - than what legends say about him.

In other words, I´m sceptical to his previous performance, but his omission would be unacceptable.

Our center situation must be really bad when guys like Marcinko and Surovy are on the roster. Bliznak is having a horrible season and Stastny is too unexperienced so it is hardly a surprise though.

so...mixed feelings a little bit but at least we dont have full roster of veterans like Czech republic...

Marincin, Tatar, Jurco

also i dont think Gaborik will be fit enough to start in Sochi
so we can expect something like this

Tatar - Handzus - Hossa(81) 1st line
Jurco - Kopecky - Panik 2a line
Zaborsky - Olvecky - Miklik 2b line
Surovy - Marcinko - Bartovic 3rd line

sit: Marcel "icanthitanything" Hossa

Chara - Granak
Sekera - Visnovsky(if healthy/if not put Meszaros)
Baranka - Meszaros

sit: Marincin (one game, maybe two), Sersen

Halak
Budaj
Laco

Well, that's maybe pretty much because of you don't have any solid veterans. LOL

oh boy...you call them "solid"

please

Nedved, Novotny, Kaberle = Stumpel, Zednik, Palffy

while we let our "solid" washed veterans at home, you are flying to Sochi with them...Lojza even took his son-in-law on this trip

Definitely pulling for Hossa to bronze or silver.

I don't think so, he can't play key role in our NT, he proved it too many times. He played 13 games in OG and scored only one goal.

Jurco, Tatar, Panik are unexperienced too but ok. What about Roman Kukumberg (Is he still injured??), Marek Zagrapan, Marek Viedensky, Tomas Bulik?

Where do you guys see Jurco playing? Hossa is his idol if I'm not mistaken and hes always been compared to him.
