J.C. Lipon named WHL Player of the Week


 CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Kamloops Blazers’ forward JC Lipon is the Denny’s WHL Player of the Week.



Lipon collected seven points, scoring three goals and four assists to go with a +4 rating, in two games over the past week helping the Blazers to a 2-0-0-0 record.

On Friday, October 5, the Blazers hosted the Seattle Thunderbirds at the Interior Savings Centre in Kamloops.  Lipon scored one goal, added three assists and was named the game’s 2nd Star in the Blazers’ 7-2 triumph over the Thunderbirds.  The next night, Saturday, October 6, the Medicine Hat Tigers were in Kamloops to face the Blazers.  Lipon scored two goals, one assist and was named the game’s 1st Star in the Blazers’ 4-1 win over the Tigers.… read more

Seems to be quite the pest as well, not saying it's a bad thing it just seems to be part of his game.

Your most definitely right, last year in the the Portland series he was instrumental in getting Rattie off his game and almost completing that epic comeback.

If he doesn't get drafted by anyone in 2013 can he just sign with any team or does he have to be invited?

well, I'm pretty sure the team is going to wanna have a look at him before they sign him, so he'll probably have to get invited to their camp first before he'll get signed.

Well, technically, if he goes undrafted until he turns 22 yrs old he is a free agent.

I believe any team can invite him to their camps

I went to elementary school with him. Always cool to see someone you know make a name for themselves.

Hopefully he continues to progress well.

Yes he was very good tonight.

Helluva player.

I can only imagine what his totals would have been if he didnt have to serve fifteen minutes of penalties and his team wasnt shorthanded for one whole period.
