So, let me get this straight. You think James Dolan would be fine with a Rangers minor league team playing in the arena that is the closest and most direct rival to Madison Square Garden? Too many people dont accept or just dont understand the cut-throat nature of the business world.

Its why so many cant wrap their head around why there is a lockout in the first place.

Expect more discussions today between the NHL and NHLPA regarding scheduling. We may know today when and where next cba talks could be.

The good news is that if the PA and the league don't have substantive discussions they can't break off talks.

The NHL and NHLPA are better off not announcing where or when they will be meeting. They met in Toronto on Friday. The Fehr brothers were in Toronto for union matters. The NHLPA office is based in Toronto but the Fehr's live here. The main NHL office is on 6th Avenue but they also have an office in Toronto. The PA has some office space near the NHL offices in Manhattan. They discussed core economic issues on Friday. No media waiting outside for a status report. The media was informed after the meeting was already over.

Considering how bad the Whale stream was, at least we have some KHL games to look forward to.

Honestly this is such a disgrace to me that I dont even care when they come back. I'll be forced to do other interesting things with my life.

I'm not gonna be like a chick who sits by the phone waiting for the guy to call.

People are obsessing over every non-issue and tweets about meetings to schedule meetings.

Call me when a deal is made; until then there is no news.

I think a Thanksgiving day or Black Friday start is definitely doable. November is more of true hockey season anyway. A 65-70 game season, ending late June. I predict they'll get a deal done within a month or so.

Believe me, the days of waiting by the phone are long gone. Women make their own calls now when they're interested in someone.

But I too really don't care at this point. If and when they come back, great, but until then I'm not sitting with the remote searching for a old hockey game--I've got plenty to keep me busy, with or without hockey.

I agree, very reasonable.

I read some of the posts on here, some guys are talking about NEXT season being locked out already. The doom and gloom'ers really bum me out!

Very interesting

‏@walsha Those that believe all NHL owners support the lockout should look to the NY Rangers and James Dolans' history with Gary Bettman.

So Walsh is saying Dolan doesn't support the lockout. Really? Dolan didn't support the NBA lockout. Dolan told Katie Strang 4 weeks ago that he wants to play hockey.

Dolan isn't only owner who doesn't support the lockout.

From what I understand, there are many owners that don't support Bettman.

Who's Boycotting the NHL and the Rangers when hockey resumes?

Just curious who is going to boycott the NHL ( and the Rangers ) and all of its products once hockey resumes? I personally am giving a 60 day window ( end of November ) to allow hockey to get going. If it goes longer or we lose an entire season, I personally will not spend a single dime on the NHL, the Rangers or any of thier products for a long time. 3 work stoppages in 17 years............enough is enough. I truly hope that if this contines much longer or, god forbid, another season is lost.......the fans need to seriously punish the leauge, the owners and its players. Without the fans, none of them have a job........period !

Theres is a discusion on the "Business of Hockey" sub forum on this board and many seem to say they will be holding back on spending money when the leauge resumes.......just thought I'd bring it to my team and see who else is sick of this lock out crap and plans to lock up their wallets and spend nothing on the NHL and its teams.

Anybody else plan on boycotting?

does this mean you're going to stop watching hockey as well? if you really wanted to make an impact not only would you stop spending, but you'd boycott the sponsors and networks that air the programming. it's just not realistic. i am not going to change anything at all about my viewing experience. i enjoy the sport and realize that it's not about the fans... i mean what happens if 50% of us drop our hockey budgets... then we just end up w/ another lockout because the league isn't earning enough and smaller franchises can't fit with the new CBA when it is finished.

i'm watching hockey whether it is KHL or NHL doesn't matter much, so really it doesn't make a difference to me when this finishes. it'd be nice if we got something out of our stacked team this year, but it's w/e.

I'm under the assumption that very few of the people who say they will 'boycott' the NHL actually will. The people that will be 'turned off' the most from this lockout will be the casual fans who have not yet developed a passion for the sport. Those are the people that will stop watching/supporting the league.

I'm not saying that the OP, in particular will be one of the people who claims that they will 'boycott' and then choose not to. For all we know, he/she may follow through with their idea.

Ideally, a 'boycott' does make sense if everyone follows through with it, though. Getting enough dedicated fans to boycott the league at once though seems nearly impossible.

Looks like we're starting to see the big market owners v. the small market owners split that Fehr and the PA were waiting for.

Why the **** would I boycott? This lockout is going to be the death of me. Why would I punish myself any longer after it ends?

When push comes to shove, I bet 9/10 of all of you who say you're going to boycott everything that is the NHL, don't do ****.
