I'd be willing to bet he was taken off the ice as a precautionary measure. If he is day to day he isn't going to play for a week.

BRB is right. The league can lift the lockout whenever they want if they have a deal in place. They'd also be just as easily able to put the lockout back in effect if things go south before they start playing. As long as they gave enough time to finalize the deal before opening night. The league would not start the season without a deal in place, though... too much of a threat of a player strike.

I wrote about this the other week. No matter how loud Bettman's silence is, I can only imagine the voices of those owners that do not want to loose a season, when some of their players begin getting hurt. It did nto really happen last year, but that is just timing.

Ive always been a head-on type of person at my job. Thats why I thought our discussion earlier about what to tackle first was so fascinating, and it got me a bit fired up. In my experience, its always better to get the difficult issues settled first.

Then again, if things are completely stagnant on the economic front, its never a bad thing to be in the same room talking. Unfortunately, that usually means things are as far apart as they can get on the big issues.

The sad truth is the owners of the bottom 15 or so teams in the league probably dont care that much, so long as they get an agreement that might get them out of the red.

James Dolan should be screaming bloody murder behind closed doors if Nash is out for any period of time. It'd be a little easier to swallow if it happened on MSG ice and not in Switzerland.

If Dolan says anything, he'll get fined a large amount, or even worse is that the Rangers may be forced to give up picks.

Hence why I said "behind closed doors"

I cant imagine hes happy at all about anything going on here. But, as with everything involving Dolan, I have to wonder if he even really cares in the first place.

I think it depends on the situation. In this case, with the union coming into this feeling as if they got run over last time (which they did), having a few points of agreement to get things going is a good idea. When you have two sides without any major distrust between them, then it's easier to knock out the big issues first.

Far apart can turn fast though. I brought up the NBA earlier in this thread. I'm not predicting anything by it, just pointing out that it does happen where wide gulfs can be crossed very quickly.

TSN article says they came to some agreements on healthcare and drug testing today.

Any news articles on Nash's injury?

Can we get real sources instead of just random rumors being thrown out?

If Nash suffers a concussion and/or a severe shoulder injury... I dunno if I can follow hockey any more.

Just my 2c, but as a fan of this sport and team for nearly 20 years there has come a point for me where enough is enough. Nash should be playing a pre-season game right now, not going to play over seas because the players union are a bunch of greedy SOB's and the owners are a bunch of ****** bags.

What happens now if the lock out ends in a month and Nash is seriously injured? We rely on a Chris Kreider and Carl Hagelin to be the wings for Brad Richards? What happens if he is out for an extended period of time and Gaborik can't stay healthy when he finally returns from being injured himself?

Words can't even describe how irate I am right now.

This is an effing joke on the part of the league and the union. More so the union because of the % they get as compared to other leagues. They have nothing to complain about.

The only thing I found on some Swiss hockey pages was a uniform game report, where it says Nash felt "groggy". He collided with Ilkka Heikkinen by the way...

Translated from German...

Nash fell out after nine minutes, the Canadians left the ice after a collision with Heikkinen pretty "groggy".

They'll start to care if it's one of their players.

looks like kreider may be our best[skilled] winger to start the season. oh boy!

watch them announce that the lockout is off the same day that we find out how serious the potential injury is.
