How is he a rookie with 129 games in the Sm-liiga? I think they made a mistake here, not to take anything away from Mikael.
Quote:
Who qualifies as an AHL rookie?
Players who enter the season with fewer than 25 games of professional experience in North America (NHL or AHL) or fewer than 100 games of experience in a European elite league qualify as an AHL rookie.
Wasn't Larionov or Makarov once the rookie of the month in NHL while they were over 50 years old, had +1000 soviet union national games and already past prime in their careers?
OMG! First we learn that he's not the best rookie (Schultz) then we learn that he's not a rookie at all..
Please, don't dig any deeper. Soon there's someone saying, he's not really even son of God.
How does this CBA apply to NHL contracted Players in the AHL?
It is recognized that Players who are signed to a National Hockey League (NHL) contract are bound by that contract, and the terms and conditions thereof while they are assigned to an AHL Club. It is agreed that no provision of this Agreement shall be applicable to a player playing under the NHL contract if such provision conflicts with his benefits or obligations as set forth in his NHL contract.
Because he is just starting his ELC he is considered a rookie by the NHL so the AHL considers him a rookie to? Just spitballing
Well, knee injury derailed Saku Koivus "career" p-wise, so this could be potentially really bad for Granny, hoping for the best though! pls be minor injury!

This is exactly what I'm afraid of. This can be just a ****ing disaster. It didn't look anything minor, it looked really bad.
I haven't had time to watch recent AHL-games games but 3+3 in last 4 games sounds pretty good...
Other than getting pushed around a little, he is doing just fine. Skating is fine, vision is crazy, wrister is deadly, defense is fine. Kid can stick handle. Coyle and him have some chemistry. Even if Granny doesn't make it as a 1st liner ever in the NHL he will always be a PP wizard with that vision. It's nasty.
With quality genuine NHL 1st line wingers, I think he'd be a fine 1st line center. And, no, I don't mean Antti Miettinin. I mean the guys that finish when the puck is on their stick and an open goal staring at them.

I swear, if one could see Mittens backyard, it was a flooded soccer field complete with (soccer) goals.
