Could the Battalion be on the move? (EDIT: Yes, to North Bay)

Being from Hamilton to be honest, I going to some bulldogs games not all... its simply because the whole rich buggers of nhl/ahl... I rather support a OHL or a Major Junior Team... Thats why i was thrilled when i heard Erie might be coming to Hamilton and had money set to go buy season tickets soon as they made it official... If Brampton were to come to Hamilton I would be happy for a number of reasons... A) to support a OHL team and b) thinking of what a great rival it would be for Hamilton & Niagara... St.Kitty isnt that far to go to see my team play and i would go to st.kitty to see Hamilton play Niagara...

Lets hope and pray and keep my fingers cross that brampton comes to Hamilton... I mean With new people running Copps now, there was a thing on the local news that if Bulldogs did leave there would be some kind of hockey at copps... so im thinking a) the OHL team would play at copps like the Steelhawks did or they temp play there until a new arena is built... For the right amount of money a rink could be built in 1 season. The new ppl who are owning/running copps now are the minor tv station to comcast who is owned by Philly Flyers...

To be honest i still rather see a junior team in Hamilton then AHL or NHL... Simply because of this whole lock out thing... people can say ahl is way better and that but simply i rather follow ohl and such and there isnt rich punks complaining about making mills and such...

St.kitt is prob the closest and transport is out of the question for me so i crossing my fingers and hoping if bulldogs numbers continue over this season like they have in the past u can bet the montreal staff is waiting to see if that is the case before they decide to keep the farm team in Hamilton or not... If not i can see Andlauer pushing for a Junior team...

so for the month of october they have tsn 690 doing the radio for the month of october... plus a tv station in montreal televising bulldogs games... i realize that theres a lock out and such but the more and more i read into it the more i can see montreal moving their farm closer to montreal because of transportation cost

so more and more i believe Brampton could be coming to Hamilton

I'd be all for the move honestly, preferably to Aurora/Newmarket, but Hamilton would work too. Ive often wondered about how close the Steelheads and Brampton have been for a while, and being a Steelheads fan Id rather see Brampton move but Id still be disappointed with them gone even if Im for it.

as since i dont have a account as i have registered for a few over at hoof and not have once been approved yet, anyways someone over there said tonight that they are announcing the move to north bay tomorrow... they cant list a source but no one piece of info on the net tonight says anything about a press conference or anything tomorrow so i think that person who said so is full of it

in the last link it says a unnamed team has contacted Hamilton.. So if Brampton moves to North Bay who do u think the unnamed team could be?

If it does actualize that the Battalion relocate here, I would hope the ownership choose a name that is representative of this region &/or the people who inhabit it (anglophones, francophones & first nations).

just heard on CBC radio that the North Bay city council is meeting for the possibilty of bringing Brampton's club to town. I don't know why, the North Bay Centinials were a flop money wise, so why do they think it's going to work this time? Why does Hamilton don't have an OHL club? They could have an NHL club, nevermind OHL.

The bottom line is this, if the ownership group is in place, if an agreement is in place with the city's facility, if the board of governors gives their blessings to the deal & (the big if) if the community financially supports the team by purchasing the necessary amount of season's tickets (regardless of the community), then by all means, this should happen.

Bidzey, a team in North Bay only enhances Sudbury's viability. Don't tell me you're afraid of the CTV spotlight being taken away from the Wolves

Anyways, we'll see if this announcement actualizes or not this evening.
