No individual awards, but he checks off a lot of other boxes.
His playoff performances are also very good. I believe he's up there on the list for active playoff points.

He's going to finish his career with 400g and 1000pts as well.

Because Devils fans don't feel the need to remind us that he's a good player in every thread.

PS. Check out Elias's fake then goal on the return pass. Was privileged to see that one in the flesh. Sweet move.

That goal was also hilarious because of Sykora's failed celebration. You can see it at the end of the video you posted. He tried to jump into Patty's arms, Patty dodged him and let him fall down, and went to Larsson instead.

And laughed at Sykora on the bench afterwards. Priceless.

Not many people have bad things to say about Elias, but he doesn't really come up much either. He's been consistently very solid, one of the reasons the Devils were successful.

It is because he is a European on the New Jersey Devils.

Very underrated player. Scores big goals, plays a solid 2 way game. He's been doing this for many years now. And this coming from a Rangers' fan

I think its a combination of things.

1) He's pretty quiet, you don't hear him in the media that often
2) Not super flashy, can make great moves but he's not on the top 10 highlight real that often.
3) Behind flashier stars for most of his career. Brodeur, Stevens, Parise, Kovalchuk, etc.
4) Generally liked by the league, does not create controversy.

Basically see Ron Francis

There's no need to roll eyes if you don't understand something.

You take a guy like Peca. He's a great 2 way player. Good offensively during his prime and always a rock defensively. There was no transition game there. His headman pass was just OK and he would never carry the puck through the neutral zone. Some others with a great 2 way game are Gainey, Madden and Larmer.

A 3 way player is a special thing. Guys that can control plays in all zones like Kurri, Crosby, Elias, and Foppa have a transitional element to their game that the 2 way players don't. Some players do it with passing, some players do it with skating but its a huge part of their game that makes them unique.

Don't think he's been underrated, more like overshadowed by teammates.

He's just not as well known as Kovalchuk, etc.

And I guess we'd prefer the Devil we know...

Because the Devils have always been such a defensive minded team he never got credit for being the best forward on 2 championship teams
